I wonder how they will handle boot stripes? The Paceman show car had short stripes they stopped above the new name badge. Could be they will handle production the same way.

I ordered a 2013 Countryman and just got it a couple weeks ago. It does not have that huge ugly badge.

Stopped by Passport today. Lots and lots of Countrymans with the tramp stamp. Oddly, all but a couple were white and they seem to be keeping the price point at +/- $30K. Very glad I'm not shopping for a CM now.

Mine arrived at the dealer on Saturday and it does have the label which I am fine with. It will help people differentiate with the "normal" MINIs. The funny thing is, my dealer didn't know that the labeling was a new thing and none of the newly delivered cars on Friday had it. I guess mine is the first of the new crowd in the MN area! That's fun I guess.

My JCW arrived at the dealer last Wednesday and they sent me pictures of it since I can't take delivery til tomorrow when I get back in town. I'm so glad that it doesn't have the tramp stamp on the boot.

If you hang around the dealership for a few days, you _could_ probably get a
set of letters fresh off another CM to enhance your rear presentation...

I just got my 2013 Blazing Red with white top Countryman on Friday 4/7!!!! I love it!! It arrived into port in Los Angeles on 4/2, and it does NOT have the Countryman label on the boot. And, it does not have the flat load floor. I didn't order this one, the dealer was able to locate one to fit my needs already on a ship!! So, I didn't have a choice on the floor.

HOWEVER, they informed me that NONE of the Countryman in the future will have a flat load floor because the National Transportation Dept (or whatever their official name is) said that it interfered with the latch system for car seats. I believe they are talking about the red hooks on the floor of the boot (near the seat backs). I don't whether to believe this guy or not, but that's what they told me.

^^^ The. Part about the flat load being discontinued due to NTSB action sounds like a load of BS.

I don't see any correlation between flat load floor and the LATCH system. Dodgy!

My wife doesn't want the letters but we stopped by the dealer lot yesterday and she loved the Paceman. 'If we had that I'd add the S!'
Direct quote.

At least Crossfire is a cool name. While I love my Countryman, I always thought the name was kind of (actually, VERY) lame.

Crossfire is a cool name...and it has a cool font. The Paceman name is better than Countryman. If this is going to be the trend...what will they put on the back of the regular cooper? H A R D T O P ????

I wonder if it is optional when ordering.

I noticed that in the video referenced in this Paceman vs. M135 thread.

The stripes are cut short and the new Tramp Stamp is still there even with the stripes... = Fugly!

My Countryman was produced 3/12 and I picked it up 4/12—it DOES have the name badge. The stripes on the boot are split above and below the label. :( Otherwise, I love the car!

Name badge w/stripes pic

Finally got around to taking a photo of the name badge (for curious minds). Less than thrilled but living with it for now.

The more I see the Countryman lettering, the more I like it. I may actually remove the "Cooper" wording from my car and put on the "Countryman" badging. I thing the major reason people are OK with it on the Paceman is that "Paceman" has three fewer letter and is considerably shorter.

I've seen Chryslers, Lincolns, and Volvos that have similar lettering on the back, so MINI is not unique in doing this.

Thanks, but no thanks. Not a fan of the lettering.

It's a bit worse with stripes to me. But hey, if the dealer is willing to glass em off, no harm done.

Two interesting things I found out about the Countryman badging. First, I was at my dealership yesterday and inquired about buying the lettering to add to my '12, since I like it. Turns out, it won't be available here until around June 27th. Second, if you visit the MINI UK configurator, there is a no charge option called "model designation deletion". I know the dealers here will remove it if requested, but apparently, over there, you can specify it when the car is ordered.

If it's helpful to anyone else I removed the letters from a picture posted in the Facebook group.
