R60 How much can I negotiate for ordering 2013 Countryman?
$1400 off is not bad. That is definitely not on the low end of discounts....you can try to get free floormats when you take the delivery if you feel like negotiating. GL
Hi guys, thanks for the follow-up discussion to my original post. It turned out that I just ordered a 2012 CM in Bright Yellow. There are bright yellow CMs in lots somewhere in US, but none of them has a bright yellow roof and leather seats. So I decided to just order one. Here is the deal I got: MSRP $26950 including $700 destination charge, and I pay $25550, so it's $1400 lower than MSRP.
After reading you guys' post, I felt that I didn't negotiate well at all. The dealer was very difficult to negotiate as he emphasized that the car is not produced yet, but it is 2012 model after all. Anyway, I already paid the $1000 for deposit and the order is already placed. My question here is: Is it possible for me to negotiate further with him once the car is here? I don't want to get a better deal than everyone else in my situation, but I don't want to get the worst deal either. I am not good at negotiating. So your suggestions will help a lot! Thanks in advance.

In Colorado we only have two Mini dealerships and they both use a "everyday low price" setup. They did knock $750 off MSRP but I also have a trade in that I'm going to push for more money on when the car comes in next week.
I could get a larger discount buying something off the lot, not much, but the cars had options/packages I really didn't care about that drove up the price. By ordering the car just the way I wanted it costs 2 or 3k less than taking one off the lot. For example, the sport package is 1k but I all I wanted was the stripes ($100) and the xenons ($500). I wanted the Harman/Kardon stereo ($750) but not the entire tech package for 2k.
