Well, after a day of batting down the hatches I needed to do something fun. So, I installed my new ProClip mount. Well, almost anyway. I can't figure out where to get power for it. If anyone has any suggestions, please share.

first impressions: weathertech side window deflectors

i really like them

i only bought the front set in the dark tint

can motor with the windows slightly open with much less noise,
can motor with the windows slightly open in the rain without water coming in,
can motor with the windows open all the way with less noise and much less buffeting,

with the windows slightly open and the heating/cooling fan on the lowest setting, the airflow is much higher, the deflectors create a vacuum at the window, so air is sucked out of the cockpit

they are almost unnoticable on the car, a couple of my friends did not notice them until i pointed them out

install was a snap, less than 10 minutes, including the unboxing

hmmmm ... looking at this last photo, i need to install the "chrome dome" turnsignal bulbs i bought ... they have been in the boot for a couple of weeks

Excellent. Thanks Scott. I got the FedEx shipping info for mine. Can't wait until they get here. I have had them on my last couple vehicles and was so bummed when they weren't available for the Mini.

had my 205/70R-16 Dunlop Grandtrek SJ6 winter tires mounted on mini oem european R123 Alloy 5 Hole Circular Spoke Wheel 16"x6.5" (5x120) Silver with TPMS senders for my cms all4 ...

photos to follow when i mount them on the car

these are large tires at 27.3" od, but an earlier test fitting with a used tire of the same size revealed no interference

Yep, bringing up bad memories. The front corner was crushed and almost every other panel was hit so it was totalled.

I got pulled over!!!

The guy following me loved my bumper sticker !

Survived the wind and rain in Pittsburgh. But I understand and have sympathy for those who were hit harder. Ike took out my wife's minivan a few years ago.

Which GPS/Camera package did you go with? I ended up going with a 5" TomTom GPS and have a 5" screen/Camera combo coming. Not sure I will like all the screens, but... It is what it is I suppose.

Congrats on your upgrades, by the way.

I used the 7" "navsgo" unit and a homemade bracket to mount it below Mickey. I am in the process of adding a MINI start-up screen to it.

I do not have a factory alarm but missed the OCD beep when I locked it. I used a little siren thingy wired to the lock signal wire. Works great and it is not very loud at all, just loud enough to hear something from 10' away. Took about 10mins to install but, I bet I could do it in 2.5-5mins now.....3-2-1 GO

I also added a iPhone tray to the center rail, just above the USB/AUX port. I was having a hard time finding a place to set my phone while driving. It's nothing fance but works great and is 100% removable if I need to get to the ports.

Took it in for the first pre-paid oil change and found out that it was subject to the coolant temp sensor recall. Left it at the dealer then get a call telling me they will charge me for labor due to aftermarket CAI. Since it took me 20 minutes to install the CAI and it's actually easier to access the sensor with the aftermarket unit I pushed back.

Long story short, I'm going to pick up the car with just the oil change done, will put the OEM airbox back in, and take it back next week.
