Anyone Booked on the Medea out of Bremerhaven on the 16th?

Our car has been sitting in Bremerhaven for nearly 2 weeks awaiting a ship. We are hoping we will be on the Medea on Wednesday. Anyone have a car booked on the Medea for this voyage?

Can't answer your question directly, but the Tonsberg (red and white ship - see webcam)

http://www.blg.de/en/blg-logistics/s...am-automobile/

has been docked in Bremerhaven for a day or so (no doubt loading Countryman). It is bound for the US East coast via Southampton. Your MINI might just be on this ship?

Thanks, but unfortunately no, that ship does not stop in New York (New Jersey) this voyage. Pretty impressive ship, though, wow.

I can see 14 CM's that left Bremerhaven yesterday on the Tonsberg, several of which had higher VIN numbers than ours. That's the first time I've seen higher VIN numbers, so it makes me more optimistic that our car will be on the Medea tomorrow.

That's awesome! Still don't have any VIN's higher than mine showing up yet, the highest is still 19 below mine.

The Medea has docked after spending a few days "bobbing around" in the North Sea. As soon as the sun rises (about 10 PM EDST) the ship may be visible on the harbor webcam. Hopefully your CM's will be shipped soon!

I was hoping mine would be too, but considering how long you have been waiting, I am doubtful. Can you track VINs on the other shippers? I have only seen WW tracking info. I would love to check and see if my car is listed on a ship.

oh, Tonsberg is a WW ship, I thought it was from the company the ran the webcam...
Do you just put your VIN in on Track and Trace on WW and pray, or what?

anyone know how long it takes for a CM to get from the factory to the port after the status changes from "Released to carrier" to "being transported"?

Looks like the Medea's departure has been delayed until the 17th for some reason, but arrival is New York is still projected for the 30th.

I thought it was kind of strange that the Don Juan was scheduled for 13 days, but the Medea was scheduled for 14. I figured it had something to do with time of departure and time of arrival, like maybe they both would take 13.5 days but spread differently over number of days because of what time they depart. Now that I know I won't have it by June 26, the date I was hoping for, I'm now hoping to have it by Fathers Day. Oh well, one more month of car payment for my current vehicle.

I just realized that this Friday will be 8 weeks from the day I ordered, the top end of the 6-8 weeks I was quoted. I'm looking at 10-11 weeks IF it makes it onto the Medea. Otherwise, more like 12 or more.

yowser, why was there such a delay from order to production? That part went quickly on mine, but now of course waiting on it to get to port and then find a ship... Hope yours gets on there! (I hope mine does too, but it doesn't sound likely.)

I have no idea why there was such a delay. I ordered on March 30 and it didn't start production until April 24, almost a month later. I've seen people tell about getting their production number the next day and production starting the day after that. Even shark715, who bought from the same dealer as me, ordered 2 weeks after me and production started before me. Maybe because I got the base model, I go to the back of the line?

I wonder if they run them off in batches. Our's is a base, and it was pretty quick to finish production. We ordered on April 23rd and it was completed May 9th. Of course, we have the shipping waiting game to go, but that really bites that it took yours so long on the front end. Did it get on the MEDEA?

Still no hits on the VIN number yet, as of a couple hours ago. Will check again tomorrow.

I just checked, no record of any CM's being loaded on the Medea yet. But based on watching past ships leaving from Bremerhaven, it looks like loaded cars don't appear on WWL's website until after the ship departs, and the loading time of day are shown on the website is not actual because it shows that every CM loaded on the vessel was loaded simultaneously, and the time of day shown is often after the ship actually departed. Hopefully we will have some good news this evening or before.

Well, seems the time over there is 6 hours ahead of us on the east coast, so there is only 8 and a half hours left (at the time I'm writing this) for it to leave on the 17th as scheduled. I'll keep checking. I keep putting my VIN in, minus the last 4 digits (my last 5 are 30317, so I enter up to the first 3). I've gotten the same 19 results for over the past week, with the highest number being 30298. I think I'll probably let out a little yell when I actually see my number show up.

Hey shark, I can't find it right now, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that your salesman emailed you about coming in to the TDTD event tomorrow and that it won't be a problem using the certificate. Am I right? I just went to the event page here: http://www.miniofmonmouth.com/TakedownRSVP and noticed a little yellow asterisked disclaimer that I didn't see when I originally signed up for the event: *Not valid on sold orders or pending deals prior to 5/18.
I emailed my MA a little while ago, and he replied within a minute, which has never happened. This was his reply: "My 100% complete understanding is that an ordered car would not qualify for the rebate. However, I will confirm my information and get back to you."
So, this is what I wrote back: "Thanks, I do see a disclaimer on your event page now that wasn't there when I first signed up for the event, saying "not valid on sold orders or pending deals prior to 5/18". People have been floating around the official dealer bulletin from MINIUSA on the forums, and there is nothing about being disqualified if you already ordered, and other dealers have been honoring them. The only 2 criteria was that you must take delivery after the event, and before July 2. And given the fact that it's going to take at least 10-11 weeks for me to take delivery (maybe longer if it doesn't make it on the ship that leaves today), there is no way I could have ordered after the event and gotten delivery by July 2."

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how can you tell that 14 other CM's left on the Tonsberg.? How can you track their VIN #'s?

I will say that if they don't do something to make things 'right' with me, they will not like what I have to say on any dealer survey I may get. And I'm probably the easiest to please person you'll ever meet, it takes A LOT to get me angry. But my whole experience thus far has left a very sour taste in my mouth, this would just be the icing on the cake.
