Absolute Black MINI with Matte Black Strips

Has anyone here done something like this? If so, would you mind posting pictures? I would like to see what it would look like black on black. Thanks.

The anticipation..... I am hoping someone who has done it already will reply back with photos. The black looks great but am thinking it may need something else. Been thinking about tinting my windows too.

Yeah, my plan is to do matte black with a thin red stripe on the outside much like the picture below. Ill be doing the windows at 20% all around.

Wow.... looks like most of the car is in matte black. You are planning on changing the bumper etc. to matte black too? This picture looks hot. From what I understand matte black is the new black. I just wanted the strips to be matte black. When you get your CMS4 all done, please forward pics.

I only plan on doing the stripes in matte black...for now!
Eventually I will put on the JCW body kit. Finding that picture is what really made up my mind to get the CMS4!!!

I saw an R53 in person last year... black with mat black stripes. It looked pretty smart.

No pics yet, but I'll have it in about 2 weeks time if all goes well. I plan wide matte black viper stripes with narrow red outer stripes. I'll post pics.

tatacountry, thanks. Now were talking. Both look pretty cool. I really like the matte black stips on the hood. The one with the red outline looks cool too. Any pics of the boot with matte stips? LOL. I never thought about not being able to strip the roof because of the sun roof. Thanks again for your efforts.

I'm loving the black on black. Now I wish mine was black. Oh well.
At one time I wished I had a pepper white.
I guess I'll be satisfied with my sparkling silver.
Just happy to own a Mini.

Okay new question..... where are you getting your strips from and who is installing them? MINI? I know the strips are vinyl and am wondering if anyone had gotten them painted on? Vinyl vs. Paint strips?

I order mine from www.cutritefx.com.
They have many designs, are very reasonable, and they ship quick. I believe they are located in N. Carolina.

I had a guy up the street that does auto body work install my side stripes for $40 (both sides). I did the bonnet and boot stripes. I watched him do the side stripes and he cleans and wets the surface with soapy water, removes the backing and slides the vinyl where he wants it than smooths it out with a small flexible body filler pad. Looked easy enough and it was. Just have to take your time.

Thanks drsimmons.... I checked the site out and yes, pretty reasonable price. I use to work in the sign business and know how to apply the vinyl to the car but would feel more comfortable having someone else do it for me. I am sold vinyl is the way to go. I may even decide to do something else with the graphics instead of strips.

Find a local vinyl stripe shop. Use Google Maps to search in your area.

Oooppsy.... Sorry about that 52804. I missed it.

Bf seems to think paiting is a better choice than vinyl even though vinyl you can easily take it off if you want a change. Painting will cost more than vinyl. Oh well I will have to spec it out.
