Boot Stripes

Here are the OEM boot stripes (matcing the bonnet ones).
I have included before and after photos.
Let me know what you think?

As they match the bonnet stripes, good addition.

I think they look great! Of course, I'm a little biased, since I ordered them on my car, too.

That's a good lookin' Mini you got there!

I keep going back and forth on these. I have the bonnet stripes now, but I kind of want to do a viper stripe. The thing is, someone scratched my car where these boot stripes would cover so that is why they keep tempting me. I am just unsure how they would look without a black roof as then they kind of appear out of no where.

Well you did ask, I think they are ugly, especially where they cross the Cooper S badge, it looks messy and cheap. I've only ever seen these on US cars, never on any car on any other MINI webpage from anywhere else, they aren't even on the parts list for MINI in Norway. I think if you want to stripe the boot you need to go with Sport or Viper stripes. Below is an excellent example of tasteful stripes.

Jezze. It's a good thing he didn't ask what you think of his wife.

He did ask what people thought, I gave him my honest and frank opinion, I don't like them I think they cheapen the look of the car.

Donald Trump does that, too. Not effective for him, either.

Why does Sealy keep referring to himself in the third person?

Huh, I feel the need to point out one small detail: the OP's license plate identifies him as hailing from Greece. Easy on us yanks please...

Has to do with Eve White.

Sealy - Who'll give you a bonus point for that reference.

"Three Faces of Eve" proverbial piece-of-cake.

But, what about that immortal Siouxsie And The Banshees tune, "Eve White/Eve Black?" Probably not on Sealy's iPod.

Whoa! What exactly are those "tasteful" stripes made from? Speed tape? Aluminum foil?

I'd get some of those bad babies, if I weren't an American who prefers ugly, messy and cheap.

Sealy might be into Seinfeld episodes like me.... "Jimmy likes Elaine. Jimmy thinks she is pretty" or "George is getting angry!" - George castanza

Love your style Sealy! Keep it up!

Steven is signing off...

Steven.

Sorry, couldn't help it

Why can't you do the rear stripes like this? This is how I had them done. You don't have them too close together, or so far apart that you have to work around the logo. Matches the front spacing, too.

I agree that the stripes done this way look much better than the OEM stripes. Actually, Sealy's probably unnecessary bluntness notwithstanding, I agree with him and I like the viper stripe look even better. Then again, I drive an MCS so I guess my opinion on CM stripes should be taken with a grain of salt.

Ahh, check the posters. I'm the one that's un-blunt.

I like the contrast on the top and the subtlety on the bottom. Did you consider carrying the stripes on the back all the way down?

FWIW, I'm no fan of the stripes at all. No matter what color, placement, etc. That's just me. To each his own though. It's your CM to do whatever you like. Have at it.
