Tips for setting personal profile

I'm having no sucess changing things that are under the personal profile like having the doors lock when you drive off. This is our first Mini and it seems very awkward going through the settings. It's hard to tell what you should select to change the settings.
Any tips other than keep trying?

Not sure which system you have, but generally menu tree driven set ups are a PIA. Get out your owners manual, put something soothing on the radio, get yourself in a zen zone, and then just go step by step. Also, remember a lot of stuff is tied to the key fob you are using - some things will have to be done twice. Makes it even more fun. When you're done, take it out for a good run and relax.

I would suggest that you make a list of what you would like to change and go back to your MA, if the dealership is convenient, and have them walk you through it. That way you can get all of your questions answered at once.

Relying on my PIA MA or SA for anything above making coffee, I would be SOL, LOL......

I picked mine up back in May. If I hadn't thrown him out, my MA would still be in the back seat trying to figure out the nav.

LOL. Mine would still be at the computer navigating through the configurator. I don't think he had ever gone through it.

Have you looked in the manual? There's a description of every item in there.

Setting personal preferences

www.aboutyourMINI.com has short videos that will walk you through the setting with and without the navigation system.

I must have gotten lucky. My MA sat with me, we set it all up, and then he told me to stop by if I forgot anything or had questions.

Ditto. In fact, my MA spent several hours the day before delivery trying to get explanations for the missing office features and experimenting with "Send to Car". Delivery took about two hours with most of the non-paperwork time spent doing a stem-to-stern run through of the CM. Most of that time was spent with the computer, nav, and MINI connected features.

I've said it before, I'll say it again -- shopping for a MINI isn't just about price.

on my 03/2012 build countryman s all4, everything programs exactly as described in the OM, EXCEPT FOR ONE MINOR POINT:

the engine must be running!

i comfirmed this by showing an SA, he made some inquiries and confirmed it to me the next week

my dad has a 2011 build and his programs exactly as the OM states with the engine off
