CM upgrade standard headlights?

Just bought 2012 CM off the lot.My last two Mini's had xenon lights.
Drove 300 mi mostly at night and steady rain, standard lights are very poor.Is there an upgrade anyone has done such as better brighter bulbs or is there a way to upgrade to xenon's Thanks mark

I did the drop-in Sylvania Silverstar Ultras, 50% more energy output, good improvement. Since days are getting way shorter here mid-east coast, time to improve the nite driving experience.

I've used those before and enjoyed the additional light output. Buy and carry with you spares, because they are of significantly shorter life.

I have found that to be true as well, something about the old "the candle that burns twice as bright ................."
Thats okay, Ill live with the pain, its much less painful than not seeing what you're about going to run into (or over). :0 Its all about trade-offs, I usually just rebox the original lamps and stash them in the cargo bay, in case one of them does "phhfffffft".

I'm told these are illegal in NY anyways!
I think the same about the way they tax us here

Forgive my basic stupid questions on this: Other threads specify H13 as the bulb type, yet the Countryman Owner's Manual I just found online specifies H4...

I'd tend to trust the Owner's Manual, but I'd trust someone who has actually switched the bulbs out even more...

(yes, I *wish* I had gotten Xenons)
