Countryman Color Regret Post-Order

Is anyone else second guessing the color they ordered after they put thier order in? I ordered a Cosmic Blue/Black Roof, Black Bonnet Stripes, carbon black colorline, Polar Beige Headliner, carbon black leatherette, black 17" standard wheels, and now after seeing everyones pictures on here, I have a slight tinge of regret that I didn't go with the Royal Grey/Black Roof, Black Sport Stripes, Polar beige color line, carbon black leatherette, black standard wheels. I'm sure I'll be very happy with what I ordered, but just sayin'...

No regrets. We have CM-S Cosmic Blue all around - no stripes, black leatherette, black headliner, chrome mirrors, 19" JCW black/chrome wheels

Buyer's remorse. It's really, really normal to regret some choices, but I think it's probably more about the psychology of a major purchase than about the colors.

You can always change your stripes, mirror caps, and a bunch of other stuff without huge expenses or major work, so don't forget that.

I think the Cosmic Blue trimmed they way you listed is sharp. That color combo is exactly the one that was displayed in the showroom when I first looked at the CM. It was an AWESOME color. I just knew that I was too lazy to ever keep it clean enough to keep it looking like that one in the showroom. No worries. If you liked it enought to order it, you'll love it in person.

No regrets, and I don't think you will have any either once you get in and start motoring!

Sounds like a nice build! Enjoy it!

Oh, I don't have an ounce of regret about buying the car at all :-) One in every color would be nice...

Exactly! If I had a blue CM, a red convertible, a black coupe, and a hardtop in the craziest possible color combination, I'd be a happy man. Well, I'm already a happy guy with just the CM, but it would be fun to have a rainbow of MINIs in the garage.

I, too had some initial regret after I ordered my Surf Blue CMS. My Mom and husband were really pushing me to get the Royal Gray instead, both because they liked it and because they know how much I love that "gunmetal" gray color. I almost called my dealer back a couple of days later to change my order color.

However, I am definitely not regretting it anymore. I saw the Royal Gray in person, and while it's a very nice color, it has a bit too much of a brown/olive tint to the gray for me, rather than a true, pure gunmetal (which is just my preference). My parents subsequently saw a Surf Blue one in person the other day (they hadn't seen the color on the care before), and actually called me to say I'd made the right choice!

I just knew in my gut that the Surf Blue was the color for me. Buyer's remorse is normal! I'm sure you and I will BOTH love our cars to bits when they come in!

I had the same feeling when I originally ordered. After I received the car I was happy as can be. I would say stick with your initial gut instincts on what color to pick.

I too struggled with the decision. I knew I wanted an actual color besides gray, black, silver or white. My last car was silver and I like all those colors, but I wanted something that seemed to have a personality to go along with the car. I ended up with the Surf Blue and I think the color is awesome. Much better than I even expected.

All that said, I see everyone's pictures on here and I say, "That looks cool!" so I don't think you can go wrong.

Only ordering regret so far is not ordering MINI connected. Couldn't justify spending the extra bucks on something that didn't even work right, but it is just so cool! I'm sure I'll be perfectly fine without it.

We decided to make some changes to Fenton's appearance after driving for a few months. The roof will be changing from black to BMW Alpine White, and we will be adding white bonnet stripes. The transformation should be complete next week, with the addition of mud flaps and a skid plate under the front.

We felt changing the color would improve the visibility of the CM4.

I ordered an Ice Blue Clubman and for the 2 months I waited for it not a day went by where I thought I made the biggest mistake of my life. Now that I have the car it is unique and bad *** looking. i get more compliments on this car than any other car I have owned and its the funnest as well.

You will love your car.

Why am I posting this here.... well I love my Clubman so much 4 weeks later (yes 4 weeks later) I am buying my wife a CM A4 and it will be here Monday. True Red (Orange) White Top, White Stripe Bonnet and Boot - fully loaded.

I ended up getting my surf blue because so one else didn't like it when they ordered it. I liked the surf blue online, saw it in person and it was pretty flat looking, decided on all white to order, but you couldn't get the Connected. So we looked at what was available on the west coast, and my local dealer had the closest match to what I wanted, but it was surf blue instead of white. decided on it anyways and love it now.

I ordered a Countryman in Royal grey and was loving my decision until I started looking at other people Royal Grey CM in pictures because the color seemed to change from dark silver to green to brown. I started to regret it until I remembered how I originally went in to order one white w/black roof and was blown away by how striking the Royal Grey was. I was concerned about whether it was just the lighting in the dealership that made it look like that.
I think Tippykayak is correct in the psychology of a major purchase. I loved all the CM colors (except the yellow) and would love any of them.
From looking at everyone's pics I'd say the Red w/black roof could be my favorite, but I've never been a red car guy.
Good luck with your new CM. I'm sure you'll love it.

The grass is always greener...

(Don't worry it's human nature. You just made one of the biggest purchases if your life.. It's normal to second guess...)

Love mine, all I want now is some 19's, either the JCW or the BBS CH reps.

However I'd imagine anyone who ordered yellow with white trim and alloys has got to be regretting it like crazy. Makes the CM look like a clowns car.

If it worked as advertised, I'd say you should regret it. But since it doesn't, the iPod+Bluetooth option gives you almost everything. Right now, I have a big screen in my speedo that shows me my trip computer. I start phone calls with the redial list or with the voice command, so it doesn't help there, and I don't use any of the Connected-only features, since I have an iPhone4 and no cradle for it (does that even exist yet anyway?).

I had a 2011 Clubman loaner for a couple of days, and it just had iPod+Bluetooth. I missed my screen and floating needle a bit, but it wasn't $750 worth of missing.

My only regret is that I didn't drink the pure orange KoolAde sooner. Spent too much time being negative when I could have embraced it for the great color it is.

Other no regrets are that 99% of PRs are black tops and that people are still buying all those other colors. Helps keep Zaftig even more unique.

Not where I live, there are 5 PR's, 3 have white tops, one PR top and only me with the black.

That is sort of funny. I ordered the opposite, Royal Grey/white roof etc. I then had a change of heart, not because the color in person but just because of what it looked like in pictures. Sort of beige rather than grey. So called the dealer and they allowed me to order another color, this time cosmic blue/white roof. They took the grey one into stock. Added a few weeks to the order but got the color I wanted. I still really like the grey in person. But glad I switched to cosmic blue. Stick with the Cosmic..

Your thumbnail is positively inspirational. I think I'll change my black roof to a white roof!

That car looks fierce! I cannot wait for mine to get here now. Now I know how purely awesome it is going to be...
