R60 Owners Lounge and Automated Phones System....Useless
Owners Lounge and Automated Phones System....Useless
The info at Mini Owners Lounge and the automated Ask Mini phone number is almost useless. OL says "On order" for 3 weeks and the automated phone number says "Scheduled for Production, with no confirmed production date" which it has said for 2 weeks. I almost feel I'll have my car before OL updates itself.
But if I talk to a real person at the Ask Mini phone number they tell me it's in production with a completion date of Oct 4 (which, by the way, is great news!)
Why can't the automated "machine" get it's data from the same place the "real person" does at customer service?

i have the same feeling, i usually just go straight to a Rep, the funny thing is my MA said something different than all others. Regardless i don't plan on the car until early November and if it comes early well i'll just be happier sooner.
The website and phone line updated pretty quickly for me, but it doesn't sound like it's consistent. I ordered on 16 Jul and the phone line had the the estimated completion date probably a week later. It took a couple days to update after it was loaded on the ship, but since the ship was leaving on a saturday, I didn't think much of it.
I have a friend at work that just ordered an Audi, and he has zilch as far as tracking info. The MINI tracking could be better, but it's still better than most.

@Sardian im in a similar position to yours. My answering machine has been saying Scheduled for Production, with no confirmed production date since i ordered the car on 9-19. however my MA told me that my car went into production. I just hope the car moves quicker than the updates.

a definitive explanation on how the data gets input into the Owners Lounge and Ask MINI has never been posted.
What number are you guys calling? My MA gave me no such number. Perhaps all the frustration it seems to cause is the reason why. I am having a fit waiting for mine to arrive.
