Congrats! Just curious how did you get the USAA account? I thought I have to wait when I am ready to apply for a loan.. Is it too late to get discount now since the order is already placed? Can we still have a chance when we receive our first mini ? Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Congratulations. Who is your MA? Did you go thru Schomp? I am probably ordering a very similar car in late October/early November (trip to Paris on the front burner, so car on back burner for a little while). I like the surf blue/black combo, but haven't actually seen one in person yet.

My bet is he/she went to Loveland. Schomp doesn't speak discount.

Ask your dealer about the USAA discount now. Might still be fine when you take delivery.

Funny that you mentioned Schomp and discounts. I tried to work with them since the dealership is minutes from my house, but no go. So I went with Loveland. I have been working with Stan and it has been tithing but easy.

Ditto. Except my USAA discount is $700 off MSRP vs + $1850 over invoice. Wonder if I'm getting hosed. Will need to check that.

Stan does indeed rock and I've only met him in person once.

Hey, sorry to sort of semi-hijack your thread, but thanks for the advice. May have to call Stan. I'm not in any hurry, but am pretty excited nonetheless. Colors are the biggest obstacle. I know what I need/want for options, but the color thing has me twisted in knots (not really, but a little) because there are so few that I've actually seen on the road/lot and I know that the web reproductions of the colors aren't the best.

So for those Denver area folks who've gone to Loveland instead of Schomp, does it concern you at all that yoiu're a ways away for service issues? Because I'm not fooling myself into thinking I won't have any.

The usaa deal can always change. Best thing to do is to use the auto buying services on the usaa site and then you will know for sure.

I will do normal service at Schomp, they had their fair chance to sell me a car, and obligated to service the vehicle especially while under warranty. Any major issues I will go up a to Loveland.

Ditto, I placed my CM order with Stan at MOL. He was great to work with. My wife and I spent almost three hours with hime making selections and changing things. Even made a change after we placed the order and he handled it perfectly. He has also kept us very well informed on the production process. Our CM is on the Toscana and will be headed through the Panama Canal today and will dock in LA on the 21st. Not sure how long it will take to get to Loveland.

Ordered my Surf Blue on the 29th of August. Called Ask MINI early last week and the recording had it scheduled for production with no confirmed production date. Called this morning, the recording hadn't changed so I waited for a live person who said it had entered production, but he couldn't tell when it had started. Owners Lounge still has it as on order.
I went through this 7 years ago with our '05 MCS, I seem to recall the status updates on both the Owners Lounge and Ask MINI were more accurate back then, I remember I rarely had to speak to anyone and just used the phone prompts. I can't believe that in all that time with the advancements in technology that it has gotten worse.

Ordered my Surf Blue, black top, black wheels on 23 Aug. My MA tells me I just got it done in the nick of time since now all Countyman's are apparently on hold pending some component shortages. Mine is not affected as it was already in the queue and this was apparently from a high-up production manager type guy across the pond. As of today, I too am scheduled for production with no confirmed date. The waiting is painful.

Looks like Surf Blue is pretty popular , ordered mine 8/23, production started 8/31, Assembled 9/7, when I called the hotline on 9/9 auto-bot told me 'awaiting transport'. I called my MA and he confirmed all that. OL website updated to awaiting transport Saturday.

I think I got in just in time, but I am sure it helped that I had No Connect, No Nav, and Manual to help speed it along.

The more pictures I see of Surf Blue on NAM, the more I think the website rendering and color samples at the dealer are waaaay off. Still glad I chose it though !!

Anyone have a picture of Surf Blue with the Polar Beige interior? I'd be interested to see what it looks like.

Hi Jeff

Wondering who your dealer is? I priced with USAA, got a "certificate" but Mini of monmoth (NJ) won't honor it on an ordered car, says they will only give the discount per the certificate to "in stock" cars only. Bah, they wasted 2 weeks of my time.

We've been USAA members for 15 years, can any dealer give "the discount"? Who's yours?

That looks great! I can't wait!

I was able to get the USAA discount on an ordered car, worked with a dealer in Loveland, CO.
