2012 Free Floor mats?

I know that I've read somewhere that floor mats are included in the 2012 CM price. I can't seem to find that article anywhere despite searching so I'm wondering if someone can point me to it. My ultimate goal is some official MINI paperwork that documents this.

When my CM was discounted my MA told me that nothing would be thrown in for free at time of sale, including floor mats. If they are included by default, I'd like to have that in writing at the time of pickup in case there is any argument.

Thanks!

minilauren,

Just make sure you print the memo out. You just might need it if the dealer does not oblige

Take care,

Did anyone actually pay for their floor mats? Ours were included by the dealer. They offered us the choice of carpeted ones or rubber ones. We went with the rubber ones.

mrluckypa --

Thanks for the advice - I'd already planned on doing it! I generally trust no one...especially salespeople! Also, after my MA got me my $1000 off MSRP, he told me not to try to negotiate for anything free after the fact and he included floor mats in that. Since they come with the car, there should be no negotiation needed.

:-D

Well, like I've said on other threads, I was ready to walk out of the dealership when they wouldn't come down to $35,000 (MSRP was ~$36,000). They pushed really hard to fill that $1000 gap with accessories rather than a cash difference but I said no...all I wanted was the care at $35k and if they wouldn't give me that then I'd walk. They also told me that they NEVER sell for under MSRP...

Anyway, I'd rather get accessories that I want after the fact and take my time to think about them and decide where to get them rather than have a bunch of things piled on me that I'd never use anyway.

I suspect they're going to try to push a lot of the extended warranties and maintenance plans on me on the day of sale though...could be rather interesting.

minilauren,

Chances are that when you ordered your CM, the MA may not have got the word that the 2012 CM includes the cosmo floor mats. I would not assume that MoP will treat you poorly. They are in business to make money and MINI have not issued hold-backs on any Countryman.

IMHO, with most dealers selling current model year MINIs at MSRP and, at best, throwing in a couple hundred bucks in accessories, you did very well in your negotiations! MoP have just reduced their margin for you by 33%!

I'm sure by now, Brig and crew know that mats are included. MoP is NOT the kind of outfit that would try to charge you for free stuff. Also, there is a reason why MoP is a favorite of the MINI community in New England. A full-court press during the day of sale is definitely not to be expected. This has not been our community's experience.

Please give your MA a call about this and I'm sure you will have your trepidation eliminated.

Well, I'm not trying to say that I expect that I'm going to be treated poorly by MoP BUT I got annoyed when I went in to order my CM. I had done research before hand, saw that people had gotten $1000 off by attending the Rock the Rivals event (which I didn't know about) and some even got off more. So, when the MA told me that CM's "always" sold at MSRP at all dealerships, I got annoyed. There were plenty of cases on here where that clearly was not the case. Then he did go on to say that some dealerships sell above MSRP, but not to worry, MoP would only sell MSRP!

I may not be giving them the credit they deserve but I felt that it was dishonest to say that they ONLY sold at MSRP...then to knock $1000 off the price.

The $1000 dollar promotion was probably paid by Mini and not the dealer. I attended the promotion and used the discount. They wanted the coupon with my name and included it in the paperwork. I still got an extra $500 off.

My MA said they would run out of CMs this summer because of the supply issues. This may be one reason it could be tougher to get a discount. I purchased mine in May.

Not sure, but wasn't that promotion limited to in-stock 2011 CM inventory and not on 2012 orders??? minilauren's deal was on an ordered 2012.

Yes, you had to take delivery of the vehicle by this past Tuesday. I ended up getting one off the lot in part because of the coupon, and also the shortage of connected/nav

Ah, I thought so.

@coldnorth -- So, that means the $1000 off minilauren's deal WAS NOT underwritten by MINIUSA. That means that her dealer, alone, absorbed a 33% margin cut to win her business. That's the best deal I've heard reported from that MINI dealer!
