R60 Bench Seat Availability
Got a note from my MA today telling me that our CMS is scheduled for production and due to be complete on Nov 7th! Looks like the bench seat production will, in fact, commence with production week 44. If this pans-out, we have an outside chance of taking delivery by the Jan 3rd Motor-tober-vember date!
Other folks with early bench seat allocation slots may want to contact their MA to find out about their production week and completion date.

Just ordered my all4 yesterday, although my prod # online shows a different color. Brand new to the MINI brand, but excited for our new CM. Hopefully it comes in by 1/3.
Will try to negotiate a guaranteed $750 off regardless if it comes after 1/3/12 when i go in for the motor-tober event this sun. I already got my MA to take off $500 so i'm crossing my fingers.

Oh my God that means it's REAL! The bench seat is REAL! And so is your Countryman!
Congratulations!
how soon after did you get your production date did it then appear on your personal mini lounge area? i got a production number right away, but that was many days ago.

I got mine last Friday and I was able to get into the Owner's Lounge that night, although the info was not right. I checked again on Monday night and all my info was correct! Now just waiting for a Production Date.
For me, it was within a week after my (EXTREMELY proactive) MA let me know I had received a production number and a 112 (on order) status. Remember that the MINI ordering/status system accessed by MINI dealerships has way more up-to-date data than the Owners' Lounge. That is even stated on the OL "Track Your MINI" page! For my order, the OL seemed to lag behind my dealership's system by at least a day or two.
Ok, let's do some detective work here. The MINI production status codes tell you at what "stage" of build/delivery your MINI is in. According to a MINI Motoring Alliance post, status codes are as follows:

So, if the code sequence hasn't been changed since the post was first made, you will see that just after the order is received at BMW NA (status code 037), your order will be assigned a production week (087). The production week to calendar week mapping can be found HERE. After a production week is assigned, the order is sent to the factory (097) and then accepted by the factory (111).
When the OL shows "On Order", that means that you have received 111 status (the first visibility we non-MINIUSA mortals have). As the production week gets closer (about a week out) a typical order is actually scheduled (sequenced or queued) into a batch of other orders to be completed during that production week and receives a 112 status. When your MINI is actually starting it's assembly process, your status will change to 150. BTW, as long as your order has yet to go into a 112 status, you can make changes to your configuration...usually!
So, because of the sequential nature of the code changes, whether you know it or not, your production week has already been assigned to your order! And, by looking up the week number (above link), you can find the production week start and end dates! In my case, we were assigned production week #44, 10/31 through 11/06. Thus, if everything keeps on schedule (fingers-crossed), our CMS will be complete by 11/07.
Now, the good news is that all this data is your MINI dealers ordering system! However, the bad news is that your dealership may restrict it's access to one or two individuals (typically, the Sales Manager and/or the Business Manager). This is done to prevent inadvertent mistakes by a harried MA!. The access restrictions are done at the dealership's discretion. If your MA is not allowed to access the system, they will have no idea about the detailed status of your order. This means that they may be reluctant to pester their SM or BM for a mere status inquiry!
One of the reason I like my MINI dealer is the that I know my MA can access the system and regularly does so to keep his clients updated! This is one of the "hidden" aspects of customer service that should be considered when choosing a MINI dealer, IMHO.
So, pester your MA, their SM or their BM until you can find someone who can tell you your production week by accessing the existing (and highly up-to-date) details of your order in the MINI system!

lots of great info...thanks theo. ive ordered with herb chamber mini of boston and you? the sales manager was going to check online but the system was down today. the funny thing is i didn't want to get wrapped up in all this stuff...but now i am too excited not to...haha. todd
Super helpful post, Koopah! Thanks!
I definitely agree that a good MA makes all the difference in the world going through this process. My MA has been AWESOME, and kept me very up-to-date. In fact, any time I email him with a question, he seems almost as excited about my CMS as I am! I agree with Koopah--if your MA isn't giving you this info, pester the dealership until someone does!
I guess there's also 1-866-ASK-MINI if you're not getting good info from your MA, but I haven't tried that yet and I don't know if they use the same system the MAs do, so I don't know if they have the same detailed information.

Unfortunately, both the Owner's Lounge and ASK-MINI are not the best sources of accurate, up-to-date information. My guess is that both are updated from a data extract run against the MINI ordering system. The question then becomes how accurate is the extract and how often is it done?
Thanks much for all the exciting news!!! No word from my MA yet, and nothing online, so I decided to check the phone link. FYI, it is 866-ASK-MINI, not an 800 number. The latter gave me another number, which when called invited me to chat with hot chicks! Even MINI does not have that level of customer service!!! :-)

Sorry about that! My bad. I'm going to fix it in my post so no one else has to go through that!

Now that's funny ...
Anyone in the US with a bench seat order get to status 111 or scheduled for production on the MINI OL?
Mine is still sitting in order received status. I have not had time to contact my MA, so just wondering.

The OL still just says on order for me, but my MA gave me my production date.
Yes, I think bostonterrier and I are at 112. My production week is #44 which begins Monday, 10/31 !!! Must be a Massachusetts thing...
