Key - Unlock Boot?

Can you unlock you boot with your key without unlocking all the doors? On prior MINI's I could use the (far right) button, but doesn't seem to be working with my Countryman (Vader).

Just stepped into the garage to give it a try... I locked the car and was able to just unlock just the boot..... had to hold the button for a bit...

not on mine you don't, just push it once like you're unlocking or locking, maybe there is a slight difference between US and non-US models.

You have to actually push buttons? How gauche. I just grab the handle and lift.

It works!!!! Thanks everyone for your help.

On my '06 convertible, there was no push and hold. I had the convenience package on my '08 Clubman so I was the same as Sealy.

Unforutnately, I did not special order Vader - just picked from what was already ordered and coming. I really do miss the Convenience Package (who would have thought you could get so used to not needing a key!) ... but otherwise, Vader, is WONDERFUL!

OK, here's an OnTopic addition.

I frequently unlock my CM4 (two clicks on my unlock button), put stuff in the back seat, get in, start to back out and get the warning that the boot isn't latched. (I haven't opened the boot since the car was parked.)

I check and, sure enough, pushing on the boot gets one click and the warning goes out.

I've stood next to the car, watching the boot, repeated the sequence, and the boot is firmly latched.

So, how am I ending up with the boot not fully latched? I know that, if I hold the boot button down for about three seconds, the latch can be released - but I don't think I'm doing that.

Going on memory - and I know that is dangerous - in one of the Owner's Manuals (either the generic one from the Lounge or the one with the car) there is a mention of pushing the button and having the hatch raise. Can't remember what sequence, but apparently someone at MINI thought it would be a conveniece. Mine hasn't done it, so I haven't worried about it.

For me, the lock button locks the doors and boot. The unlock buttom (programmed for one push) unlocks all doors and the boot. The boot button unlatches the boot whether it is locked or not.

That is the same as it was on my R56.

Wait... Real question... The boot button on the remote actually unlatches the back hatch?? Do you have to program that?? I read the manual cover to cover - must have missed that one...

On a business trip - my CM os 300 miles away, so I can't just check for myself...

It doesn't unlatch in the sense that it doesn't automatically pop open. You still have to push the MINI logo and pull up.

Was that something the dealer needs to program, or is that something that can be done with the faub programming?

Try using the physical key in the door and turn it to the lock position to see if all the windows & roof close...

Nope, it turns fully counterclockwise to unlock the door, but doesn't really turn all the way clockwise, nor will it lock the door, and definitely doesnt close the windows!

Hold it in full right position ( Clockwise) for 3 seconds or 4

well i did finally turn it far enough to lock it, not the best key for gripping! and then i held it till my fingertips went numb... and then i got in the car and put the windows back up

my allroad used to have the up and down feature, of course it also had a heated steering wheel

Weird. Maybe it works for me due to the comfort package?

Confirmed. My friend with the comfort package has window roll-up with the key, I don't have it without the comfort package. Both of us can roll down all the windows with the unlock button.

So, if you have the comfort package you can use the physical key in the door to roll the windows back up? You still can't roll them up with the keyfob, only roll them down as in the standard option?

I guess it saves you opening the door and getting in the car to do it. more than I have without the comfort package.
