R60 Test drove my first CMS today
Test drove my first CMS today
I went by my local MINI dealer today to check out the MINI Rocks the Rivals event (mainly for the hot dogs and t-shirt, LOL), and figured I would take a CM for a spin. I currently have a 2008 MCS. I also occasionally carry my 5 year old son in my car, and I really would not mind to have the extra doors and room in the back.
Since my current car is a stick, I drove the CMSm. Honestly, it drove and handled great. I noticed a small difference in handling and acceleration over my car, but not nearly as much as I would have thought. It was a very nice surprise.
The pain of not having the extra doors is not bad enough yet for me to upgrade, but next year when my warranty is up, the CM will definitely be on the list
BTW, I asked about a JCW, and they mentioned they should have a JCW CM in a "couple months", including one with All4? Any validity to this? While I have no doubt it would be very expensive, THAT would be an attractive combo

Thanks for the post.
I currently have a just-a-cooper and have almost a year left on my lease and am already thinking about what next. I also have 2 kids that are growing fast, and the extra leg room and doors in the back would be very welcome right now. So the CMS is definitely on my list. I'm hoping that the acceleration of the "S" will be a nice little improvement over mine, even though it's heavier. But I'm also hoping a JCW will be available for me to consider as well.
