Our dealer was having a hard time finding us a car and it looked like we were going to have to wait and order a 2012. When I clarified the time frame with him I was told...orders begin in July, production in August and delivery sometime in September.

Hope this helps.

Oh I would say at least a solid 3 weeks from build completion. It helps that our MINI will be an east coast docking, but time in VDC and then the trip to Indiana will take a little while.

We'll be getting our CMS about the same time! Mine is ready to ship.

BTW, I heard from another guy at another dealership today that they would begin taking orders for the 2012 at the end of summer.

I'm pretty sure, as with most European car makers, the plant shuts down for vacation most of August, 2012's start when they return.

OK just passed on a '11 allocation - at this point delivery would have been in mid August. I would venture to say, you need a real discount on any '11 at this point, or you may as well order a '12. Model year depreciation will hurt if you are in and out of the car within say 3 years...Waiting for that '12 order bank to open in July?

My MA has claimed that the order will be going in tomorrow, June 10th. This came out when I demanded my deposit money back pending the reorder with the 2012 specs. I expected a longer delay and thought it wasn't right for them to hold on to my deposit that was put down for a 2011.

My MA isn't the greatest, so I'm not holding my breath. We'll see when tomorrow comes if an order actually goes in for the 2012. Again, I'm not totally convinced this will occur, since there is still no information out about 2012 models.

I'll keep you updated.

Interesting since I was told by 2 dealerships that the 2012 allotments wouldn't be out for a while yet. I'd follow up with this guy daily.

Then you should try negotiating, if you want to save some money.

I think most us are getting around $1000 off MSRP. And when you add in the price increase of the 2012 (I was being told a few %), that's an even bigger discount...at least enough for me.

As Deuce says that really depends on how much the prices go up, rumor is it may be substantial.

So, surprise, surprise, no car order yet! My MA let me know that while the automatic transmission is now available as an option, the Navigation system is not. I had seen people mentioning delays with the Navigation system, but didn't think it would affect a 2012 order. We'll see how it goes.

I talked to my MA about the 2012's while I was in picking up my car today.
They didn't seem to have much info, but were already pre-selling their production slots.
He said that they were already estimating that it wouldn't be until November for delivery of any CM that got ordered now.

Same story

I went to order one on Saturday (in MN) and was told if I would give up the MINI Connect/Nav, they could immediately order me a 2011, but with the Nav, they'd see what they could do.

Today they told me that my order's going to have to be a 2012 too. I got the same July/August/Sept timetable that others did.
