My surf blue CM (lots of pictures) just got it!

I ordered the car on Mar 1st, and picked it up friday night, April 29th. About 8 weeks, not too bad! It was a surprise for my daughter (turned 16), and she was definitely surprised and ecstatic. Of course, I will be driving it at times too. We test drove and looked at many cars, Nissan Juke, Kia Soul, VW Tiguian, VW golf, and the CM, and she did not like any of the other cars. My wife and I said to her, "lets go to the dealer, and test drive one", and her car was there with a ribbon on it. Her look was priceless. I was never given anything in my childhood, so I always said if I could afford it, I would spoil my kids, so I went for it.

The car itself is solid, still a firm riding mini, actually feels more firm than my R57, both have pirelli run flats, but the CM are the "centurion" and mine are the "Pzero's". Love the navigation, the back up sensors are a must, especially for a new driver, and the HK stereo sounds pretty darn good. Oh, and I just love the wheels, and the color. It feels very different than my R57, but still handles very similar. And I think the interior materials are just fine, I do not know what all the gripes are about. The car did not cost 50K.

Anyway, enjoy the pictures of my daughters R60, my R57, and of course could not leave out the wifes X5! See the next thread for more pictures, as only 3 would upload.

Wow, what awesome parents! The CM looks great.
Any chance you have a picture of her reaction. I'm sure it was priceless.

Thanks! In this case it is good to give and equally good to receive.

Wow... Great looking surf blue. Of course, I'm a bit biased since I ordered almost the exact same color scheme 2 weeks ago. Can't wait to get the vehicle built and in my driveway.
After seeing your rims, I'm beginning to rethink whether ordering the 17" anthricite rims was the best choice. I hope they look as good on my new toy as the 18" rims do on yours.
By the way, I know your feeling on on getting your daughter the things in life she deserves. I bought my daughter a new car when she graduated high school many years ago. When she was a child, I had promised her if she got straight A's through high school, I would buy her a new car. She kept her end of the bargain, but she was still in shock when I went through with it. Today, she is a doctor, and I still think getting that new car for all her efforts contributed a little to her success.

Good luck with the new car.

Mark

Mark I am glad to here that, you have a great story also. Hopefully my daughter will be as successful as yours. She is on her way finishing 10th grade and all A's in high school thus far. I had the same promise with her 2 years ago to get good grades, no drama with friends, no trouble no drugs etc. She is a great kid and does not get involved in that stuff. Steelers fan I think I met you came to your house last year. I thought u were moving back east? Irvine gave me the best price that is why I got it there. Thanks.

Yep, that's me. Haven't made the move yet. We'll probably wait for my son to finish high school (3 years) until we move, at the earliest .

My first car was a 1973 Olds cutlass. And my wifes was a 1980 chevy chevette! And I worked and saved bought my olds. Its different these days, at least if you can afford it. Today, so many kids have iphones, laptop computers, etc. A little more expensive to have kids these now!.

Thanks silvernuke! Believe it or not she is not a "spoiled child" like the kids on my super sweet 16 show. She is very appreciative! Ok spoiled.

I think surf blue is the only colour (apart from black) that works with the same colour roof.

Something may be wrong with your thought process. Cosmic Blue with a matching roof works really well. Of course this is my opinion, which is the one that matters.
