How long to get a Production Number?
Was wondering how long it usually takes to get a production number from MA after ordering? I placed my order on 3/19 and contacted the MA yesterday. He returned my call today and said it should get generated sometime in the next week.
From reading posts on here I wasn't under the impression this was something that took very long to get. Thanks in advance for any info.

Don't know where you are, but you need to look for MINI dealer number two. Your's obviously does not want your business. Run, don't walk. Mine was an existing slot and I was given the number when I placed the order.
Ditto. I had the number when I placed the order. And I knew EXACTLY what week it would be produced with that number. My dealer does NOT have unlimited numbers. It's a fixed amount and it is set.
I know that part of it is stressful. Keep checking around

In Arizona and there are two Mini dealerships and both owned by same place.

+1 I believe the manager was the one who puts them in at my dealership, ordered on a Saturday had the production number emailed to me by Monday evening, they are closed on Sunday.
To the OP, if the same owner owns both AZ dealerships, then MINI HQ might treat the the locations as one entity for allocation purposes. They might have used up their allocations for the month already. I might be worthwhile to ask your MA very direct questions about where your order is in the pecking order.

Got my build number today. Logged into the Owners Lounge and noticed it had the checkered console that I told the MA to remove before they submitted the official order. I emailed him when I seen this and he said it is to late to change it now and that we will see how it looks when it arrives. Guess this will be some bargaining power I have to get them to lower the price or throw some free things in such as floor mats or window tint.
Everything else was mine, however I didn't notice the bonnet stripes explicitly called out. I am getting the Sport Package so they are part of that, but would have thought it would have been called out since they are still optional. The MA assured me they will be on.
The original details of the order I had selected the checkered, as on the configurator it stated checkered console and door trim and also the MA showed me a regular mini at the dealership that had checkered and it was on the console plus the door trim. The dealer is 150 miles away from us and once we got home I posted my order details and several members on here informed me they thought the checkered was going to be console plus the door trim also and in reality what they received was checkered console and piano black door trim. After being informed by the user community here I emailed the change to my MA and he sent me an email back confirming he had made the change (this was on Sunday/Monday). The sales manager actually placed the order on Tuesday even though we were in on Saturday to order.
So in short the MA had both documents in the file and the Sales manager went with the one we signed (with checkered) when we were in on Saturday and not the updated one the MA put together with the change. So in the end the MA failed to remove the one document from the file and the Sales Manager failed to call me if he had conflicting sheets. He did call me to ask what wheel finish I wanted . . . would think he would have asked about this at the same time but he never did.

Sorry to hear about the mix-up with the checkered console, however, are you certain that your Countryman is actually under production? They can make that change if it hasn't.
Otherwise, you are right. Use that error to get some extras
And who knows, maybe in the end you will really like the checkered.
SO GLAD you got your production number! Enjoy the ride.

They claim they can not make the change now. Owner lounge shows order still, not familiar with the update time on the site yet. I like the checkered, just not the piano black.
I'm starting to realize how lucky I am to have 4 dealers in my area. I had the same reaction to the check - really liked it, but not enough to put up with the piano. I obsessed for a couple of months on the configurator, so I had my print out for exactly what I wanted. See if they can e-mail or fax the final order to you so you know what is really going on. There should still be time for changes.
Good luck and hang in there!

I find it odd that on the CM the checkered is just on the console pillars and nowhere else, and on my new MCS the checkered is everywhere else except the console pillars. We kind of like it, since the 2 are configured pretty much the same otherwise, so at least they are different in that one area.
I like both and had my MCS come the way the CM is I would have been fine with it.
