Is my bumper and plate ??? + tint

Fill in the ???

Not sure I like the off-set of the Craven plate holder, might have to just have the MINI folks put on a factory bumper plate holder.

What do you think? Odd, ugly, ok, wonderful?

Now, we did the tint finally, so I thought I would share some photos with you.

It is ceramic 50% all windows but not on the windshield, I might go back and have a 4 inch strip done to the top of the windshield.

I believe the brand on the tint is SolarGuard.

And one last shot of my kids, his and hers.

I say lose the side plate holder.

It just doesn't seem to work on CM, especially, since it is apparently covering the expensive chrome surrounding intake detail option you have and the fog light.

Well, he's gotta have a front plate in Colorado, so where would/should he move it? I'm in agreement--it's covering stuff, and I don't like that.

Agreed. Looks a little off-kilter to the side, and definitely gives the appearance of a "bolt on" since it's covering stuff.

I have seen folks in TX, where they have double plates as well, just run the one on the back and risk the ticket. In TX, the ticket is cheap, and cops rarely pay attention. I know CO is a bit more strict on things so I dunno. Haha. It is an idea. I may be moving to either CO or TX after I graduate in May, and am considering my options for my car.

Oooo....I got the same license plate mount...didn't realize it would block the fog light and the duct that bad...

Might have to return it...

Are there any mounts out there that don't block anything? I really don't want to drill holes in my bumper...

i thought I would like the off center mount, but now that I have seen it, I think I would like center mount better. Keep the lines symmetrical--more clean looking, IMHO.

side plate works for evo's and civics. Not a good look on any mini imo. Its a JDM trend.

Good feedback, btw... Thanks for those p-shop pictures, helps to visualize.

The Craven is adjustable, I took the middle hole for ease of first installation. May make some adjustments when time allows. Maybe the p-shop on the very right.

Actually the side plate mounting is pretty common among MINIs too. Look at some event pictures from MITM or MOTD, you will see what I mean.

Never liked that look. IMHO looks good right in the middle, not blocking the
fog and duct. Blends in, not sticks out.

Yea not so happy about drilling into the bumper but did it on my R56, still I think it looks better than any other options, I'll always live here in NY and always have a front plate, so c'est la vie, thats where I'm putting mine.

Been thinking about plate placement also

Thanks everyone for all the photos showing different plate location photos. I had been wondering what I was going to do when my Countryman arrives in a few weeks. This makes it easy to decide. I'll have the dealer drill and mount it where they would normally. According to my MA, that location is where the plate overhangs the lower grill slightly. I thinks this looks best, and I don't forsee needing to remove it for any reason.

I would just stick to the factory location, yeah it sucks they have to drill holes, but it looks a hell of alot better located in the middle. You are never gonna see the holes anyway, it will be covered by the plate. Cheers

I imagine this scenario:

Cop: Do you know why I pulled you over?

You: Umm....no.

Cop: You don't have a front plate.(you press the remote control)

You: I believe I do officer, take a look.

Cop: <looks and scratches head>

Classic!!!!

I placed my order for a remote retractable plate a few days ago!

The hide away aspect is nice, but I would probably choose it to locate the
plate lower on the bottom grille. Would probably better there between the brake ducts.

I believe that will interfere with the air intake for the engine.

I would assume most would only fold it out when parked, and have it away when driving.

I use to run no plate (well a Euro front plate actually) on on an Audi A3 I had for three years (I showed the car a few times). Was pulled over a bunch of times (well 2 or 3 at least) for speeding, and no cop ever even noticed (they were behind me every time ). Did get a parking ticket once, but said the plate fell off and won. One other time I was stopped at a toll booth by MTA police, explained I showed the car and forgot to switch it, and had it with me in the front seat and he let me go.

Posted this on another thread but figured it was appropriate here as well. Made this vid in a rush and don't have any pics of it extended

I prefer the plate mounted down on the lower grill and no holes drilled into the bumper!
