How long before I get my CM once it is loaded on the ship?

I ordered my CM S on 02/28/2011, on 03/01/2011 I was able to track it, and it showed the order was placed, "on order", on 03/07/2011 it showed "scheduled for production", and as of yesterday 03/16/2011 it showed "awaiting transport". They are not messing around. How long will it take, (for those of you that have recieved your cars, and tracked them on mini's site), once loaded on the ship, to get to the port in Oxnard, I am in Los Angeles. My MA told me it would take about 10 weeks until I get the car. I figured that would be in mid May, but at this rate, I think I might get it in the next 3-4 weeks. Any guesses?

The tracking info of my CM is in my signature below, so you could check out how many days it took to change to each status, but I'm located in South Florida, so the timing could be different. According to the dealership, it's supposed to arrive at the port in Georgia next week on March 23rd, and the dealer will most likely have it by March 29th or March 30th. Hope this helps.

It's basically 3 weeks from Bremerhaven to Oxnard through the Panama Canal.

rsbell,

Thanks, that means I should get it in probably 4 weeks, which is mid April, about one month earlier than I expected, unless there is some unforseen problem.

That would be a miracle. Your car needs to be transported to the port and await a vessel. All these things take time with what may seem like unearthly delays at each juncture. It is not uncommon for a car to sit at the port for 2-3 weeks before being loaded. If your MA said 10 weeks then you should plan on 10 weeks and anything sooner is just a bonus. Also, you should call ASK-MINI to get status rather than relying on the OL site.

Those cases happen less often than not, most recent experiences I've seen on here is 3-4 days to Bremerhaven, and on a ship within 10 days of that. Also very dependent on where the ship is going, of course. It's also much tougher on you west coast folks because not only are you dealing with 2+ weeks longer delivery times, but it seams longer intervals between ships, so you miss one, it may add a week or two, an less ships, less spots so longer wait.

anyway checking the ship schedule is best way to figure out when you may see her:

Thanks guys, I am actually not in a hurry. I planned on getting the car in mid May, so whenever I get it, I get it. I am going to keep my 09 MCS conv JCW stage 1, the CM is actually for my daughter who turns 16 in a few months. She currently has her permit, and is driving my 2011 X5 50i with myself and my wife. My car is a stick, so she cannot drive it. I was very nervous about her driving our new X5, but she is doing very well thus far. Going to have her do a one day driving school at a racecourse soon, to "really" learn how to drive. But, that is another issue. Thanks!

Husband's CMS completed production on 2/25 and has yet to be loaded on a ship (will be coming to Brunswick, GA). Our MA is trying to check on why it's taking so long but he's not getting any answers.

My son did the 2 full day for teens at Road Atlanta before he got his license. It was worth every minute and every penny. I felt so much more confident about him getting out on his own. He had a friend die in an accident about 6 months prior. It was one of those totally preventable things where the kids front wheel went of the asphalt and he over corrected and ended up flipping the car, all about 1/2 mile from his house.

We ordered ours on 2/28 also. Went into production 3/7 and was finished on 3/9.

Got an email yesterday, 3/18, that our CM is on the water in transit and should have it in less than 4 weeks.

Thats great Hobie, I hope I have the same luck, or close to it. The east coast seems to be having much better luck with getting their cars shipped quicker (extra 2 weeks to the west aside), I guess because we have a lot more boats coming here.

Thanks. I was actually surprised too when I was told the car was in production a week after we ordered it as we were planning on 8-10 weeks for delivery. Maybe it has something to do with dealer allotment on the production line? I don't know. But I would venture to say the the first stop or one of the first stops the ship makes from overseas is Port Newark then down the coast and through the canal to get to the west coast.

My MA told me 6 weeks, but I was also his first production order, so I was figuring he was just being optimistic. I was figuring 8, but 6 seams dead on at this point, hell I think 5 might even be a possibility depending on what ship I get on.

BoCRon,

Thats horrible to hear about your sons friend. The whole driving with parents, having their permits, is a scary thing. I have only heard about one day schools, I am going to have to check into a 2 day, anything I can do to have my daughter more prepared I will do. When I grew up, my parents said here are the keys, see a later. Heck, I remember standing up on the front seat in my moms car when I was 4 years old in the mid 60's, while my mom drove. My how things have changed, now it is just idiots texting while driving!

Wow, that's fast. Husband's CM-S completed production on 2/25 and isn't on the water yet. I'm beginning to wonder if if was damaged in transit.
