Comfort Access and Automatic Door Locking

To my fellow Comfort Access option owners: I can't seem to get the automatic door locking feature to work, i.e. when I walk away from my car, the doors should lock after the car senses my key fob is no longer in range. I'm sure I have the right setting enabled in the respective area of the center display screen; not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I don't think Comfort Access works that way. On every BMW I've owned with it you have to lock the door by touching the top of the handle or in the case of the MINI by pushing the button on the handle.

You are correct you have to push that little black button for the doors to lock. They will not lock automatically when your key is not within range.

I think there's a setting for it to automatically lock after a certain period of time (5min?), but definitely no proximity sensor.
