Countryman Easter eggs

Thought it might be a fun idea to list some some unexpected treasures you found on your countryman

To start

1. The load cover for the tub is magnetic - strong enough to hold the lug wrench

2.

What is the load cover for the tub?

I like that the controls on the CD player work no matter the audio source. Use the forward/back buttons all the time to control iPod and use the presets button to quickly display preset radio stations. Not so much Easter eggs, I guess though...

I'm guessing the boot well and the flat floor cover.

high pressure headlight cleaners

I had no idea I had this option until last week, never felt I needed such a thing on other cars, but it is cool!

Holy carp! That's really good to know for those of us who might be tossing a laptop in the car from time to time... I have a friend who just spent $2700 to recover data from his Mac's hard drive after he set his phone with one of the new magnet-powered 'wireless' charging devices on the keyboard area near the HD and corrupted the drive significantly (beyond bootable). Yes, $2700, but he's a neurosurgeon, so the data was pretty important, and yeah, he can afford it. I can't.

I'm surprised at this 'feature' given its potential for harm with magnetic storage devices...

Thanks, OP... good to know! Guess I'll be keeping my laptop up front, or getting a lead-lined briefcase... :(

Cheers,
Tad

Man, this site is prone to making double posts... could be an echo from my tether (VZ Droid-HP laptop)... but that's a long time between posts...

Whisky Tango Foxtrot???

Anyway... free post!

Cheers,
Tad

Easter Egg:
If you press and hold the ambient lighting switch for 10 seconds, the lights will cycle until you press the switch again. Cycle stays even when CM is turned off.

Try hooking up its connector to the USB jack and its headphone jack to the AUX-in. I'm skeptical that MINI has bothered to make the radio/steering wheel controls work with a Zune, but you can definitely at least play the music through the AUX jack and you can probably charge with the USB jack.

I cannot WAIT to see this feature at night. I've only test driven and looked at CMs during the day. Tomorrow night!
