Thumbs up Exciting News from MiniUSA!

I just got this e-mail from MiniUSA talking about this new model that has just been introduced. I'm especially interested as I am one of those in a wintery climate! I'm also in deperate need of a little excitement and a Monte Carlo fantasy. Has anyone else heard about these??

It's official. The Countryman is here in all its four-door glory. And for those in wintry climates, the first MINI available with ALL4 all-wheel drive has arrived just in time. So if you're looking for a stand-out performer on the road, off the road and everywhere in between, look no further.

Like every MINI, the Countryman's crisp handling, nimble response and impressive fuel efficiency set it apart from the pack. As do its fierce bulldog stance and high-performance parts. But unlike other MINIs, the Countryman boasts far more interior space than any MINI before it. So whatever, or whomever is lucky enough to be motoring with you is in for the ride of their life.

If you need a little excitement or just want to act out your Monte Carlo fantasy, head down to your MINI dealer and take one for a spin.

Dig just a wee deeper here on NAM and you'll see there is an entire discussion forum dedicated to the Countryman:

Lots of other folks with which to share your new-found excitement.

Well the OP posted in the CM area, that was right?

I'm thinking he/she might have been poking a little at MINI USA. I think we got the message sometime in 2010.

Happily driving our CM, but the damn boot gets as dirty as my 07's boot.

Aye.....I think Sealy was trying to have a wee bit of fun at MINIUSAs expense.

It's like someone in marketing didn't get the memo last year.

I'm getting the feeling that you all may have known about this Countryman thing that's going on. Just how many of you have had the Monte Carlo fantasy?

Are we talking making zillions at the table in Monte Carlo?

Or are we talking about your Financial Advisor projecting how long you will live and if your monies will run out before you go to MINI heaven?

Don

Yep...I think the tongue was so firmly planted in the cheek that I missed it on first blush.

OBTW, I received the email this evening too. Unbelievable.

I definitely got it and laughed - as I received the same email. When it first hit my mailbox, I thought - Gee, they're announcing the bench seat option!

While I also found it amusing when I received the email, particularly because my Countryman was already in my garage, there are probably thousands of people of registered interest in the vehicle and only a small percentage of those are as fanatical as we are participate in a forum like this. So to most, it was an actual bit of news.

Well, then . . . Do I need to apologize to the thousands because I made a little joke? Or, as they don't know what I did because they aren't fanatics on the board, do I apologize to MiniUSA for making a joke at their expense? I feel like I'm being chastised - and maybe deserve it for not taking this all too seriously - but I don't know how to ameliorate my gaffe.

My post wasn't meant to chastise or correct you in any way! I also thought it was funny. Some comments were made implying that there is a dufus at MINI USA that sent the email and I simply pointed out that it was indeed news for many people, just not for the recipients here.

No worries!

Whew! I'm off the hook. I followed MiniUSA's e-mail trail and started to put together a list for a mass-mailing group e-mail of attonement. Thousands is an understatement. I was only up to C and it was already getting out of hand. If I get any e-mails about the back seats, all season tires, or a change to an acceptable red - you can bet I'll be keeping it to myself!

Officially, lol, I guess I missed MTTS (or not), that was when it was officially (not officially) on sale....

Problem was you could not order in August, but MINI dealers were glad to take your hold money.

I have to be fair, January 8 is the official roll-out and boot-gate dates and they are fun.

Another one will be Jan. 15 with the other local dealer, at least they are working together.

Btw, we have 55 degrees here today and lots of slushy snow, makes for some good test drives in the CM.
