Hi Folks,

Am considering the Countryman S with a possible trade in of my 08MCS.
Does anyone know of solutions that 1) don't require cutting the front bumper
for the NYC required front license plate, and 2) how to protect the rear bumper from scratches and dings?

Thanks for any info.....

Chuck

Don't back into stuff? OK, seriously - park sensors and 3M clear film might be it. BMW does not believe in protecting the rear bumper and I guess Mini is part of the family. Most companies sell a protective cover for the step, but I have not be able to find one for my 3 tourer and the CM may have the same problem. Let us know what you find.

Clear Bra for the Front Hood & Bumper is a must...maybe a clear bra for the back bumper ($$$ add up).

Maybe a tow hitch...because Bumper Buddy looks pretty ugly in the back.

Do what I do...Park in another zip code and walk 10 miles or park at the end (closer to the side of the sidewalk)...

I agree, 3m or something similar is a must. And yes the bumper buddy is hideous...

I have 3m on my hood, door edges and rear bumper. However, parking in NYC necessarily comes with friendly or not so friendly bumper bumps, bruises or scratches that makes the clear treatment looking like the paint is smudged, when its really just 3m adhesive thats been abused.

As such, I'm using a product from bumperguard.org: http://www.bumperguard.org/

Problem is that it attaches to the license plate on my MCS, but its not possible on the Countryman. Hopefully there will be a solution....besides walking the 10 miles the inimini2007 is accustomed to...LOL!!

Countryman In NYC
To all the new Countryman owners in NYC...any ideas or sources to protect that rear bumper yet. Was just at my dealer of choice...and thus far they are clue-less about after market solutions other than the Dupont film...

This is the perfect solution was my soon to be departed e56: http://www.bumperguard.org/, but because of the license plate design
change, it seems the only choice are those butt ugly wrap around things...

Comments, ideas..?

I'm waiting for someone to come out with the Black Safari Bar for the front & Back...and maybe some black side rails, too...

I'll change my tires to white raised Wranglers...

MINI SUV.

nimini2007....you are consistenly funny, LOL!!

Which Countryman did you get, specs, colors?

Going back to dealer Fri with my SO...possibly to cut a deal.
However, I now have a tad more leverage with a trade-in of my 08MCS,
as it appears she may actually want me to keep it, and get rid of her mazda3 hatch....

We'll see...
