sport package???

Don't know why they would have a sport package without the sport suspension, except to charge us more, but my question is this.....

Does the sport suspension option lower the car at all? The salesman said no,
but I heard on a forum or Youtube or somewhere that it did. I think they said the drop was 1/2 ", which would seem to be more than I would think from a factory option. Does anyone know for sure?

There is alot of clearance in the wheel wells, at least on the all4 (the only one I have seen up close). It sure would look sexy riding closer to the tires, like the Cooper.

Thanks..... Matthew

Matthew: Surprise! You probably gave up on getting a response long ago.

From what I've read here, the MINI sport suspension doesn't lower the car. The sport suspensions on my other cars lower just a bit. Factories are apparently constrained by the headlight height requirements for new cars. You can slam it after you buy it, however.

I'll add my $0.02 cents. One MA told me it lowered the car by 1". Another MA, at a different dealership, told me it lowered the car by .5"

Actually the sport package saves you money if you are getting the upgraded rims and xenons. Good deal in that respect.

I just picked up mine with Sport Suspension and 17" wheels. Ride is smooth and tight. My wife's hardtop without Sport Suspension on 16" is harsh so I am pretty happy with the Sport Suspension and 17" on the CMS.

Very happy I didn't so far, but thats with the runflats. Definitely would not want it any stiffer, opinion might change when I lose them, but by that time would go aftermarket.
