Configurator?

Anyone know when the Countryman configurator is going live on Miniusa.com?

Two MAs I know are off in Texas right now getting their training. The pics I've seen from the event are better than the brochure that MINI put out. I was really underwhelmed with the brochure. :(

Can't wait to see one in person and check it out. We're strongly considering one to replace my '06 Cooper.

Rumor has it that MINIUSA will update configurator next month. No specific date to my knowledge. You can use the UK configurator but of course options, packages and pricing are different. However, you can use it for visual purposes and then use the latest US Order Guide for pricing and options selections.

The configurator typically lags about 4-6 weeks after SOP date, right around the time that initial deliveries begin. As this is a new model (for the US), it may come a bit earlier. So late November is a good guesstimate.

As mentioned, you can use the configurator at mini.co.uk to build one, and get a virtual view. The Official Ordering Guide (US) is available, and contains all options and pricing. We just don't have them combined yet on the MINI NA configurator.

Same here. Except I did find a bug that prevented the selection of Leather Lounge Carbon Black seats, Carbon Black interior color and Polar Beige color line without a ton of finagling.

If you like it after just seeing pics, you'll probably love it when you see it up close. It caught a lot of attention at MTTS a few months back ... it's a very sharp looking car. Definitely on my list when mine is ready for a trade.

My friend (who also happens to be a MA) was in Texas and was sending me phone pics of the cars. He was really impressed. Said the S and the All4 are very nice. The coffee color looks pretty cool, and I want to check out the yellow. We had a Liquid Yellow '02 MCS that we absolutely LOVED. I really don't like the current yellow - am hoping the Countryman color is more "bam bam" yellow. less white in it. More oompf.

There's always red with a white roof. Can't go wrong with that combo.

Being that I'm a gorilla (6'6" and like 280lbs) I am looking forward to a little more headroom. My '06 Cooper has no sunroof, and my head is only a few inches from the roof. ... yet somehow I fit in my '66 S just fine. With the classics I fit better in earlier cars. The later model SPi / MPi cars the seats were really wide and tall, so you couldn't put seat extenders in.

Can't wait to check out the Countryman!

MINI Countryman configurator

I just returned from MINI Countryman training. We were told to look for the configurator to go live mid November.

Latka - the Bright Yellow reminds me more of the original yellow - Liquid Yellow and nothing like Mellow Yellow.

MINI Connected and MINI Connected with Navigation were just released for production so look for updated production information from your Motoring Advisors.

It's still a MINI but so much more!

I am doing the happy dance right now. Our Yellow / Black 02MCS was "POLLN8". Sounds like another bee / wasp inspired MINI in our future!

Thank you for the info.

Production slots for MINI Connected/MC with Navigation

Production slots are available for Countryman for MINI Connected and MINI Connected with Navigation.

On the other models you can order but it goes into an order bank. You will not have a production number until the the production slots are available for the option MINI Connected or MINI Connected with Navigation. We tried to order a MCS hardtop yesterday with Navigation and it was still unavailable.

MINI originally stated that the Countryman would have about a month ahead of the other models. So it that holds true look for December/January production slots for that option.

It is a very red red, almost tomato red. I liked it with a white top at MTTS in Denver.

We went with Oxford Green Metallic with white top.

Latka,

I was able to compare the Bright Yellow paint sample to all the different yellows MINI has produced - in person, in natural light.

The Bright Yellow has quite a bit of green/gold in it.
It is much closer to the Interchange Yellow then either the Mellow or Liquid Yellows.

The color on the border of the two page spread in the big brochure is pretty true to the sample.

That is going to be a great looking car! We debated back and forth between Cosmic Blue/White Roof and Oxford Green/White Roof. Can't go wrong with either.

Now we are vacillating a bit between black roof and white roof having seen a picture of Cosmic Blue with Black roof taken at the dealer event in Austin.

Go traditional classic look with white roof. Cosmic Blue with white can take some nice stripes.

I agree. I spoke to a local MA and she said they expected Nov. 1...like any software release it's drained but probably isn't far off.

Anyone have pictures of the surf blue? I like the white with black roof but may want something more vibrant like the true blue or surf blue but i can't find good pictures to see the difference between the two. I find the brochure isn't very helpful either. The color swatches don't match the full car picts.

Perhaps they are converting the whole site from Flash to HTML5 to support the 12+ million iPads now in the market. After all, MINI seems to be cozy with Apple considering MINI Connected supporting iPhones only at launch.

Doubt it, just wishful thinking...
