what spec tires did you end up getting? anticipate any rubbing when springs are installed? thanks.
they are 225/40/19 conti
just by looking at it now, i don't think it should rub when lowered

RASCMARK, love the stripes. got a Crystal Silver with Black top that should arrive in the next couple of weeks and want the same stripes but in a dark red. Hate the dealer option that has the steer horn cut outs. Question is that since the CM has the raised hood does the stripes you have fit flush without any bubbles or ripples?

Now that looks good! I'll want my JCW version once released to look just like that.

I haven't had time to go through the whole thread. Has anyone gone the other way and equipped 'mudders'; meaning fairly aggressive off-road tires?

Just traded my '09 MCS for this '12 CMS. While I'll miss the little guy, the new Countryman S immediately solves the "space problems" I was having in my first MINI. (My dog has already given it four paws up.)
So far (two days), I'm pleasantly surprised with how much better the ride is compared to the two-door. Even on run-flat 17s, much less jumping and jarring. I just hope this one turns out to be as trouble-free and reliable as my last one was.

Thanks guys! It's only been 2 days, and I have no regrets with this car. Coming from a BMW with 300hp, this little Countryman has big shoes to fill.. but I think saving money and fuel is more fun
. This car can haul surprisingly! It feels like it has 50-70hp more than what's advertised
. It's a solid car, and I don't hear any rattles.
SoonerMack: I'm actually in Canada
, and I think we've had the rear bench since the 2012s came out. My dealer's showroom had them back in September when I was shopping. Sure, I can take a pic for you. It's basically a removable panel that folds in half. Flips open towards the liftgate for access to the compartment (secret stash).
Flyer53, DooBahDoo: Yes, that's the JCW aero kit
! It really does change the character of the car. I still think it's overpriced for what you get, only the side skirts are painted
. The front and rear pieces are black plastic. The exhaust tips look really nice though

Congrats zone555! Looking good!
Below is a shot of another Canadian Countryman, in it's natural winter setting. not sure if it's the ALL4 or the Sottozeros, but the combination was killer this past weekend in about a foot of snow...

ohhhh.... Bench seat...... ahhhh.... very nice..... Congrats...
Can't believe I'm saying this, but.. I can't wait for it to snow!
For our CMS we went only for the JCW side skirts (nothing else from the JCW kit). Not a fan of the front JCW kit to be honest. The side skirts make a huge difference and make it look quite a bit sportier. Also appear as they heighten the doors which is quite a cool look.
Enjoy the Ontario snow!
