Yeah, i was expecting a much taller stance, but the 20s sit pretty nice when the rubber is thin... already had a few nasty run-ins with NYC potholes and the wheels remain unscathed. so far so good...

I briefly considered PR over PR - until I saw it in person. I thought it needed something to tone down the color. Like a white top and stripes. As usual, each of us makes our own choices and a lot of PRs seem to go with black. Your combo, however, looks to be quite acceptable.

Sealy - Who bets you have no trouble finding it in a parking lot.

We don't say butt, we say boot. And, yes. It does.

Hahaha.. I did not even notice that.. and yes I thought boot was the correct term...

Planning on regular bonnet and "boot" stripes. in light silver or metallic white.. Just to match the rims and scuttles.. That's what they are called right..? Scuttles..?

Just like real Laguna Seca Blue, I'm finding the stripes to be quite the chameleons depending on the light!

Speaking from one Absolute Black owner to another, I think your mods look wonderful. Can you give me (us) an idea how much this cost? You are going to need to convert to US dollars, though.

Recommend Wheel Wax from the get-go on those WHITE wheels. Good luck. Car looks sharp.

Are you a Colts fan? That colour combination is perfect for Indy.

Hi John - thanks! Go Absolute Black!

I worked with a local graphics company that also did stripes on my previous MINI Clubman. So, as a repeat customer he gave me a preferred rate. The work consisted of designing the stripes from scratch (looking at pictures I sent him of the official MINI sport stripes), sending proofs for approval, cutting the actual stripes, installation, and then adding a 3M clearbra on the front of the car, part way up the hood, and the leading edge of the roof above the windshield.

I won't quote the price since this was a special deal, but if you're talking to someone about having custom work done, then make sure they quote for design and installation.

All the best!

P.S. Although the Canadian dollar is slightly stronger right now, for all intents and purposes, they are (approximately) at par...

I was in the Sterling, VA area on Sunday and stopped by the MINI dealer. There was a PR with what looked like a white top on the far lot. As I got closer, it looked like it had protective something on the roof. It got more interesting when I got to the vehicle and saw this. It had a big sold sign on the dash, so someone wanted it. And while I'm all for letting someone do what they want by way of youification - this one needed help. Who ever put it on was not experienced. Wrinkles and folds all over and the hole around the antenna looked like it was cut with a butter knife. I hope they get it straightened out before they take it home.

Must be going to a musical person. Too bad about the quality of the application, although it had to be tough to do.

Well now that the lock-out is over, we can again say yes we are. Granted I didn't even think of that till you mentioned it. I have a big magnetic horse shoe I will need to try out on the side. Maybe it will get us a better parking spot at the games.
