We can dub you an honorary Oregonian. As long as you pronounce it correctly: Oar-again. None of this Oar-uh-gone malarkey.

By the way, where are you? You're always kind enough to praise our fine state of no self-serve gas stations but I haven't gotten a sense of how close or far away you are.

Welcome, Tim. I'm down in Roseburg. I'll be sure and wave when I drive through Salem in the next couple of weeks with my new Cooper.

sowellman; I live in central Ga.about 40 miles NE of Macon in a small town
called Milledgeville. I'm a transplant from Ind. My brother lived in Oregon, the Portland area, most of his adult life and when ever I would visit I would never want to leave as I enjoyed the area so much. My wife and I were planning on moving there but were never able to pull it off. I accept your offer to become an honoary Oregonian, thank you very much!!!

Glad that you enjoyed your visits here. It is a beautiful state. Hope you get a chance to come back, either to visit or to stay.

Wow, so many Oregonians in one place... and they all drive MINIs. This must be a pretty good group of folks I think.

Hello All, another Oregonian has joined the ranks here at NAM. I am slowly making my way through the MINI web world. This is a heck of a lot of support for what is an undeniable worldwide sickness.

Hello, My name is Evergreen and I've gone and bought a MINI. A regular R56 coop, silver, black roof and bonnet strips, DSC, MFSW, Fog Lamps, Premium P, sport seats, int/ext chrome, heated seats and mirros... i think that's it. I'm reading about so many others, I can't remember my own!

From the looks of things, they are quite a few of you who are in the same boat as i am, figuratively (new 07 owners) and literally (Maersk Wave). Looking forward to conversing with you all and excited to be apart of NAM!

Evergreen, welcome to the group. It's interesting to see all the Oregonians here who have bought the R56 or are considering it.

A question to the Oregonian collective... I am wanting to put a clear bra on the front of our incoming coop. I have read several posts from folks across the country pricing them far less than what my dealer is quoting me (900 clams). I have priced other detail shops and they are roughly the same.

Anyone else getting the clear bra? At the dealer? Some place else?

P.S. Fett, yes I have seen the PDX website from a tip over at mini2. Looks like a fun bunch. Once we get the coop settled, we'll give them a call.

I don't know about price, but tdm156, a NAM member from Hillsboro, had his clear bra installed by clearbraoregon.com, also in Hillsboro. He said they did a great job and I assume were less expensive than Rasmussen.

I haven't contacted them yet, but it's on my list.

Clear Bra of Oregon

I sent an email to Clear Bra of Oregon and got a response back. Al Kinney said the basic package for a Mini costs $531, installed, and includes the front bumper, 10 inches up on the hood, the mirror backs and both sets of lights. Includes a lifetime warranty on materials.

For an extra $200, he said they cover the entire hood with one piece. That takes away a line that forms where the shorter cover would end.

He said it takes about three hours to complete.

Hey Sowellman, that price sounds closer to what I've been reading. A guy in Denver said he got the works for 550.

Apex detail shop in Beaverton quoted me the same as Rasmussen. Their package includes doors, boot and foglights in addition to bonnet (10 inches up), front bumper and headlights. Not sure how I feel about all that on the car though.

I'll do some more shopping around myself and post results. I'll contact clearbraoregon too, thanks for the contact. They sound a little more reasonable!

Not to jump off too off topic on this one.
So the Clear bra Rasmussen's has is through 3M (I believe) and Clearbra is using Venture Shield. Is there any "real" difference between the two clear bras?
