Finally did it

Hi Folks,

Long time lurker, first time poster. After lurking here on NAM for a bunch of months, I finally took the leap last weekend and bought it. My new toy, still unnamed at this point, is an 2005 MCSC, BRG w/ black top, 6-speed, and pretty much all the options I would have ordered if buying new. And it drives like a freakin' go-kart with a license plate! Now I just need some nice weather so I can enjoy some more of that 23,000 ft of headroom everyone talks about.

I'd post a picture of her, but I can't figure out how to add an image that's not a URL link to my posting.

Motor On!

Hi, Jim ! Welcome to NAM. Can't wait to see your new MINI.

Try to right click on your photo, click on "properties" and then copy and paste it to the pop-up from the "insert image" button on your post.

Or, put it in your Gallery and tell us to take a gander at it.

Image posting

I think I've copied my image to the posting as an attachment, but I don't think that will display it in the posting, which is what I was going for. I tried the insert image button, but it prompts me for a URL.

Well, the thumbnail pic worked !

Great looking MINI, too !! Verrrrrrrrrrrry sharp.

Got any mods planned, or planning on keeping it stock ?

Cool, it did work!

Thanks for the assist. The photo is actually one the seller had posted on the eBay listing. I haven't had a chance to take any myself.

Thinking of a couple mods, but it only has 11k miles on the clock so far. Don't want to do anything to mess up the warranty. A friend of mine is about to do a reduction pulley on is '04 MCS MC40 (I think that's how the 40th anniversary Monte Carlo edition is referenced, isn't it?). Will see how that works out, and go from there.

I do want to add a center arm rest, and I'm wondering if the car is already wired for the Convenience Package rear view mirror with auto dimming and the garage door opener.

I've only had it since Saturday, so I've only driven it about 200 miles. I'll have to wait until I've got a few more hours behind the wheel before I decide on anything more.
