Hello everyone! I just purchased my first Mini Cooper a couple of weeks ago. My wife is the primary driver of the vehicle while I have been assigned the job of keeping it clean! In the short 250 miles she has placed on the car, I've noticed there is a lot of brake dust on the wheels. Is this something that will decrease as the pads are "broken in"? Any suggestions on how to reduce the amount of brake dust, other than not placing a foot on the brake pedal? I haven't applied any wax to the wheels as of yet to see if that helps. Other than the brake dust nuisance, I think the car is a blast! The car I drive is a 2006 Corvette. The Mini is very responsive and fun to drive, like my Vette. We're looking forward to many years of enjoyment with the Mini and the NAM forum.
I think the OEM pads are very dusty. The only way would be to change those out. I think waxing the wheels will help remove the dust though. There is a lot of info on NAM about pads with little to no dust. Just do a search.
