Feed back on Rims

Hey people,
I found these rims on the internet, they are 18" x 7.5", manufacturer is claiming they weigh 16.5 lbs with 42 offset...they also have 17 x 7 that weigh 14.5 lbs with 40 offset.
Brand Sportmax
I basically looking for some good track tires but the Motegis seem a little too expensive.
Pls give me your feedback.
Thanks!!

Humm.. I kinda don't think they'll look good. I can't see little blue boxes with ? in them being very good for rims.

(no picture) As soon as you get it working I'm sure you'll get more feed back.

they don't do anything for me. I think only a few brands are good enough to go on my car.

Lava...

They are very attractive rims. I really like the silver band around the outside. I've got a MCSC that I put JCW all-black rims on and although I like them, the lack of that silver accent makes them look a bit too dark. The wheel in the picture that you provided certainly doesn't have that problem.

Best of luck with your purchasing decision.

Chuck

thanks charley, but I'm not shopping these rims - the guy that started the topic bungled the image url - I just grabbed it out the source for the page and posted the image for him.

I'm just curious about dorf's very decisive comments. I want to see what's good enough to go on his car...hmmm

Depends....if you feel the need for big brakes...17

If not...16s are better for performance and track duty.

Certainly not 18s...those are for bling bling only

Yah thats true....if you are gonna be looking for competitive tires, 15s may be a better way to go.

Both 15s and 16s will help with better gearing with the correct tire size, and are way better for track due to their lighter weight and better weight distribution.

18s on a "track" car would be laughable

Unfortunately, I agree. But, some people run 1s on the track. I know "JCW Driver" has run his Motegi FF7 18s on some track driving.

But anyway-

If you want to keep the price down and you want a quality finish that MINI owners approve of-
then, look a ROTA wheels. Good simple styles and a LOT of finishes. Search them on eBay or Google. but whatever you do-do, DONT skimp on TIRES.

Look at some of these wheel sites, too: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=87297

Good luck-
-Steve
