Mmc???

OK, oh sensei's of small...
I am seeing lots of "MMC#___ " in many pasts.
Would someone be so kind as to help an ole techno-fart understand the meaning of MMC#?

I thought this thread might tell me but it doesn't.

Just what exactly does MMC mean? I can figure the MC is the MINI Cooper but what is the first M? My dealership license holder has the M2C on it and haven't been able to figure it out yet other than Motoring?

I believe the M is short for Mayhem (on the road, that is).

MINI Motoring Club.

Personally I think it's a pointless and silly idea - you just sign up on the thread and take the next number in line, then use the number as you see fit. That's it. Nothing else.

I think my NAM name is unique enough without needing a pointless number. Or better yet... my NAM member ID, which is 16454. There we go.

But hey - there are plenty of pointless and silly things that people like to do, so go ahead, if it's your cup of tea and that sort of thing.

Of course, I did register my MINI with MINIUSA for the MID or Motoring ID - but that's an official registration and has a purpose (contact with other members I see via MINIUSA's site). A little bit different than an arbitrary number that does nothing!
