Hello

Just wanted to say hello to a community that I plan on becoming an avid member of, I just started a new career so I will be buying my first real car very soon (my 94' honda civic just isn't cutting it anymore). I have been contemplating purchasing a mini among other cars, then I drove my friends mini cooper and even with the auto trans. the decision was made. I will be looking to buy a MCS with a manual trans. in approximately 1-2 months and look forward to joining the mini community.

Welcome, sir!!!! Giving up on the Honda? Well I can understand that, although I've had some old Hondas that faithfully got my kids through think and thin...gotta respect that.

MINIs are super...and have far exceeded my wildest hopes. Truly an amazing car in so many ways. Good luck in planning your acquisition...let us know if we can help!!

BTW, I'm also planning to get my second MINI (another Cooper) next year.

You'll love it! We just got our 06 MCS. It's a hoot!

I'm so happy with getting this car. I went from a Chevy Colorado
4x4, to an MCS as my daily driver. The truck was like work to drive.
Always felt like I was pushing it. The MINI is on a whole new level.
It wants to be driven, and its fun.

I've been wanting a MINI for the last couple of years, and now I have
one.

The dealer asked me how long I planned to keep the car. Yeah right,
like I'm going to let it leave my family..... (you know what my answer
was...)

I used to drive Mercedes, keeping each one on an average of 20 years. Good cars...but not as fun as the Mini. I bought a slightly used 02 MC and have been driving with a smile ever since. Plus it's been a decent car, no major problems and great gas mileage. Welcome to NAM! Post pics when you buy your Mini.

By the way, in case you don't already know, they are no longer producing the 1st generation MINI's anymore, ('02 thru '06 models). The dealerships have only these in stock, but in a couple months, the new '07 models are going to start showing up at dealerships here. These '07 models (a.k.a. the R56), are the second-generation MINI's, and have been completely redesigned, (though to some untrained eyes, the two generations look virtually identical).

Everything is brand new in the '07's, especially the the engines. The MINI Cooper S will now be turbocharged, instead of the 1st generation MINI's being supercharged, (should that matter to you).

Here is an article that sums up the new models for you:

Hello everyone. Got my MCS Metallic Blue with Black roof in October. I am really loving it.

I have already installed a rear Sway bar, invisishield all around, tint on rear windows, UV on the front windows, new Alpine 9857 head unit and had the Mini roof rack added. I have been reading lots about mods and I am getting really excited about more mods and sharing some photos in the forums.

I actually have a question, on roof racks but I was not able to find a forum for that. Where can you search for that?

Any way, on my Mini roof rack with two fork mounted bike sleds but I am now looking for a front wheel fork holder so I do not have to put the muddy wheels in my trunk. Has any one been able to find those for the Mini rack? Yakima has them and Thule has them, but I cannot find them for the Aero style bars that exist on the Mini rack. Any ideas?
