Okay, so some people do... but not as many as I thought! I've had my MCS two weeks now, and only 1 wave! 1 WAVE! And I usually wave to them and they just look at me... But the one wave I did get was a pretty awesome wave... from a LY/B MCS with Black Bonnet stripes. It was a whole arm out the window wave with authority!

Today, I drove about 2 miles with another DS MCS... at first he didnt wanna play, but I kept catching up to him and we drove together for a while. So much fun! I wish more people would play

I wave at every MINI I see . But I do encounter the same thing you do...it bums me out.... We have a MINI right across the street from us (new neighbor) and he won't even turn his head at us....

No waves for me. :( I keep waving but no one waves back.... maybe they don't like my flowers?

I used to wave all the time in my Wrangler.. I tried in the Z3 but other drivers just looked at me funny... thought the wave was back with the MINI but apparently not in Concord!

 

I wave when I ride my baby below.. I get waves back!

 

Don't give up...there are wavers out there, however w/ so many MINIs reportedly in Cali they may not meet up as frequently as they do in other places!!!! I think almost everyone on NAM waves!!!!!

i've been waving. have gotten a few, but not everyone. i just "assume" that they didn't see me because how could anyone own a MINI and not want to wave at another MINI owner. I just can't see a grouch buying a MINI.

yesterday, I followed a MINI. I thought he/she would see me in their rearview and give me a wave, but no. hmmm. guess they were too busy looking forward!

 

Been driving Gromit almost three months now, and have gotten five waves, and three people asking about him in parking lots.

The more Mini's that are sold, the more wind up in the hands of people who will never ascribe to the Mini way of life.

 

I've only had one wave returned.... I still wave like a madman though, and will continue at least until the grin leaves my face!

 

I hate to say it... but I dunno if it's a cali thing... but man... no one EVER waves... and I am ussually driving Stoopid's Pink Mini... I mean COME ON! you saw... you can't miss it.... LOL... oh well... I'm still waving though...

heh sure sure... if you wanna look at it that way... but well ... I would wave cause I don't care... heck I used to get picked up by chics all the time in AZ... well they would atempt to.... buuuut then I told em it was the GFs.... and they were like... "Oh ok"

I dunno Chris...maybe fewer people wave to you because your windows are like kettle black tinted. I am sure if more people saw the clip of you on cartv.com saying you're "big pimping" in a purple haze convertible, they would wave to you more.

You should do a comparison on who gets the most waves driving Pink Slip, you or Emily...my money is on Emily because, and let's be honest...she's way cuter...but who knows...keep working the purple haze and you'll might sway the masses.

About 1 out of 4 MINIs will wave back to us in SoCal..and most of the time, we have to be pretty obvious and persistent to get a wave. It's easier for me to chase after a MINI and wave than it is for a MINI to sneak up on me and wave...sometimes I am clueless and only until after the MINI has passed do I see it which in turns forces me to give chase. Chasing is fun. Being chaste is not fun.

p.s. Chris saw a pic of you in the latest MC2 edition..it looked like you were trying to race against Megamini....on foot!

 

I'll always try to wave if I see fellow MINI's....who see me. Otherwise, what's the point if we don't see each other. Lately most MINI drivers that I see don't seem to see me coming, it's like they are TOTALLY unaware.

I've been totally unaware...until the last minute, and by then it's too late for me to see if they're waving at me, or for me to wave at them.

I think someone should invent "MINI Detectors" that work like radar detectors, so that it sends an alarm if a MINI is somewhere nearby - that would be way cool.

I always wave and usualy don't get one back.... but i LOVE finding a MINI on the freeway and playing like we're long lost friends haha

 

My windows may be dark.. but we were talkin about Pink slip...Also.. I have the windows open 90% of the time... and if they are up.... no I don't wave... I flash my lights!

Also... I WAS totally big pimpin in the purple haze cooper convertable.. LOL... that was the best...

and for the clueless... maybe that's it... maybe i am just not used to clueless people... LOL... hey folks he said it.. not me!

As for the waves, I get waved back at about 30% of the time, although I chased down a Red/White JCW projectile the other morning and the only wave I got was a single digit........

 

I don't drive my Mini every day so if you are in Huntington Beach and see a crazy guy in a white Jetta waving at you, it's me!

 

In DC, it seems to come and go. There's times when I'll go through weeks without a single wave, but other times I'm returning everyone else's wave!

It used to be like that with the Vettes, I would go days with seeing Vettes that would never wave and then periods where it seemed everyone was waving.

Guess it depends on the weather, funny to know that the Mini crowd also does the "wave"

Maybe you can't see me cause we're 1500 miles apart so here's a wave from Texas.

OBTW, my windows are dark, so I usually just flash the hi-beams.

 

I have been an avid waver/light flasher since I got Jake in August. All I can say is KEEP WAVING. It's the best when you DO get a wave back and even better when another MINI waves FIRST!

I believe there are some MINI owners that just like the car and are not truly enthusiasts (like us). But that doesn't mean we should stop. They will eventually get it.

I know I may have missed a wave or two because I was paying attention to something else (like the car in front of me, futzing with internal controls, etc). I also think that sometimes the tint can be a problem. I get the best response to waves from on-coming MINIs and the rear-view flash and/or wave.

There's another thread/badge here called SAVE THE WAVE. I'd say we're all on the team!

Btw, I think we need a 'wave' emotion. Dave?
