My first Post and my First New Mini S
Greetings all. I have just received my first New Mini S from Oxford. British Racing Green, white top, bonnet stripes and grey combo interior in cloth. Automatic (my left leg just can't handle a clutch in city traffic anymore)
Absolutely amazing car! I haven't named her yet, thought I would drive her a little and see what she suggests. I have no pictures yet, either, since I have been too busy trying to reach the magic 1250 mile mark so I can really let her rip. I WAS surprised to find myself doing 70 on a freeway entrance, with absolutely no feeling of speeding. I will have to pay more attention to the speedo.
I spent most of last night following the incredibly long "Things you didn't know about your Mini" thread, and learned a great deal. I am trying to avoid the instant temptation to mod, mod, mod, but I am sure I will be adding a gauge or two, at the very least.
Anyway, just following the NAM suggestion that I introduce myself to the forum. I live in Northford, CT and have some very good back roads to keep the little one entertained and nimble. Hope to have somthing constructive to contribute soo. In the meantime, my thanks to all for sharing your knowledge and experiences.

I am official too! Purchased used mini rag top 2005 orange. 11,000 miles. I can also confirm that all the stories I read about people standing and admiring your mini are true! Today was my first offical drive as an owner, and when I was coming out of work, he was standing there arms folded staring. He! HE! What joy it was to know it was MY mini!

Congratulations and welcome. We've had our MCSa for a week - I think we're going to keep it We've been able to put almost 600 miles on Greeley so far. Don't think it'll take us long to get past the magic 1250.
Enjoy your new ride. You've selected a great automobile and a great group of people who are all equally passionate about their MINIs.

Sounds like a good read, but can't find it...my salesman didn't mention anything about a 1250 mile issue (I suspect it's a break-in point), so sounds like I should read it.
