Got It!!
New '06 MCS Dark Silver w/ black top and mirrors. Has sport and premium packages. It was somewhat of an impulse purchase while visiting Charleston, SC. Dana at Charleston Mini was great. I can't wait to rack up the miles.

Congrats!

Congratulations......
Happy for you. Now get out there and drive her.
Congrats and welcome to MINI-dom!
There are two camps out there in regards to breaking in your MINI.
The traditional, play by the rules camp suggests that you abide by whatever MINI tells you to do...which is stay under 4500rpm, alternate speeds, don't use cruise control, be gentle on the brakes, and don't go past 90mph for the first 1250 miles.
The other camp, from the experiences of many MINI drivers (especially tuners), will tell you to not worry and drive it like you stole it. The MINI engine is built to last. The only recommendation they add to driving it like you stole it - is to change out the oil after 2K in order to get the grit and loose residue that may come from a new engine.
I am getting my MINI soon...it will be our 3rd... I think, I will try my darndest to abide by the traditional recommendation...but it will be hard since MINIs are so much fun. Whatever you do...consider changing out your oil at least at 5K...that's if you plan on keeping your MINI for a long time.
Motor on!
