Hi all...

I am about to put in my deposit for a Cooper on thursday. I Love the car and have test driven it a few times and can't find anything that I don't like about it. I also love the fact that it is one of those cars that is somewhat of an icon. I am about to trade in a wrangler so I am used to driving a car that instantly makes you part of a club. I just wanted to know what owners thought we the problem points with the car before I went ahead and dropped the cash on a new car. Can anyone help me out?

Are you ordering the new one (2006 model)? If so i guess no one can help you, since it's simply too early. If not, why don't you wait for the new one?

Just for curiosity sake: in Italy you can't put your order for the current model anymore

I just picked up my 2006 MCSa. I love it. If you say you, love the car and have test driven it a few times and can't find anything that I don't like about it. I also love the fact that it is one of those cars that is somewhat of an icon, I think you'll be fine.

 

I'm buying mine tomorrow, it's midnight-thirty and I can't sleep. '06 MCS Checkmate, black/silver. Can't wait, but my bank account can...

 

I would be curious as I was told two weeks ago they are not making anymore Checkmates and the only ones available would be the ones currently on the dealer lots.

I just ordered my car a week ago and I think they will accept 06' orders for a couple more weeks before they start the conversion over to the 2007 model.

On this forum there is a place that talks about issues. You can find things that have gone wrong with older models but in the end the car was worth it for everyone has put up with those quirks.

Personally I could not find anything I did not like about the 2006 model so I ordered mine and it will be here in early November.

I'm going in to place my order on October 6th (can't wait) for a '06 HB/W MCS. I'm so excited. I took my mom to the dealership to show her what I was getting, because she'd never seen one up close and wasn't sure she would like me having one. HA! Now she wants one! I love it. Anyway, it's gonna be a while before it's here, so that sucks. Can anyone tell me how to become part of a club (i.e. the "On Order" club for now, or the "Hyper Blue" club when I get mine? Thanks everyone.

I went ahead and ordered it... I am getting a BRG Cooper with white top and mirrors, HK Stereo, Navi, Sport Suspension +, 5 speed manual. Only problem is going to be waiting until mid-november for it to get here. I keep checking my owner's lounge page to track it's progress...

Congrats, I ordered the same one but my wife would not let me spring for the Nav and I did not get the HK or sport + just the regular sport suspension. I ordered mine at the end of September and they said it would get to the west coast in Mid November I hope it does not take that long for you.

The owners lounge is a little slow to update, call 1-866-ask-mini. they can actually tell you what stage it is in i.e. motor being put in or painting.
