Well I picked up my Mini S on Saturday. It arrived with 8 miles on it and now it has 255 miles. The car is absolutely fantastic. The acceleration was way beyond what I was expecting. Shifting at the 4500 rpm break-in limit the car just pulls. All I can say is that I am very impressed. The responsiveness of the car is amazing as well. Step on the gas and it just goes. Torque is right there and the car is just so much fun. The handling is great for a stock car, the brakes are great, the engine is great, the interior is very nice, and I just can't say enough good things about this car.

I can't wait for the break-in period to be over so I can really see what the car will do. Autocross season will be fantastic next season.

Dinan engine parts will hopefully be coming soon. Huh wow the car is just so much fun.

If the post seems a little hectic it is because I am so excited to finally have my mini.

You all will love your mini's once the get here.

I dito that AlaskaBlue. I got mine on Saturday night. Everything was beyond expectation, and the wait was very well worth it. I have about 220 miles on it already.

For those who are still waiting, I feel you, but just give it a little more. I promise you won't regret it. I post pics for you guys soon.

To chrisng: my MA didnt even tell me what to do for the break in. I have just heard here to keep it under 4000 rpms until 1250 miles. I should call him to find out.

My MA said to keep it under 4500 rms for the first 1250 miles. They said to take it easy on the clutch, brakes, etc. for 300 miles.

i got a message from my MA telling me that it would at least 6 days from the date that the ship docks until i would be able to pick up my MINI, that seems like a ridiculously long time for me, how long did you fortune MINI drivers out of the east coast have to wait?

My MINI got to the docks on the 16th of November, and because of the Thanksgiving Holiday, it did not get here till Saturday night, the 25th. That would be 9 days for quick math.

My MA was nice enough to tell me that it was getting here, so I could get there a little before so I can fill out paper work while they prepared it. It killed me because I did not get to see it till the very end.

My MA said that mine was scheduled to arrive at the dock The 17th, but was delayed one day so it landed the 18th. My mini was at the dealer the 22nd, but I couldn't pick it up until the 25th because I was out of town for the holiday. So in all it took 5 days to get to the dealer.

Hey all you west coasters. I think that there is some good news!
When I checke the original schedule, it said that Don Juan arrived in Port Hueneme on 11/29. I was later told by my MA that it was 11/30. Today I checked and the schedule changed to 11/28, so it appears that it is one day EARLY!!!!!! And that our cars may be here!!!!!!!

The Eagle has Landed

Congrats to AKBlue and Pepperoni! But what, no pics??

Yes Speed Racer, it looks like the Don Juan has already arrived and deported Hueneme -- I saw it on the AISlive.com website earlier today and it looked like it had docked. But it hasn't been there for the past few hours or so and the WW website (http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppSche...esselSearch.do) doesn't track the Don Juan's schedule anymore. So I think it's OK to presume that our MINI's have been unloaded. Either that or the Don Juan has sunk!

It seems like each day of waiting is getting longer though. I called my MA this past weekend and she's guesstimating that I'll be able to pick it up the weekend of the 15th. I don't have anything for the dealer to install, so I HOPE she's wrong and I can take delivery in Denver the weekend of the 8th.

So anyone else from week 44 or 43 got their MINIs yet? If so how long ago and how many miles do have already.

I got it on the 25th of November, and have 750.

Just trying to keep the thread alive, and see if anyone else from my production weeks got the "best gift ever" yet.

Hey Fillbert -- where are you located? I'm in Denver and my MA told me today that delivery may take place on the 9th. I work out of state, so I should be picking it up on either Friday the 15th or Sat. the 16th.

I was really hoping for the 8th, because the Don Juan arrived at Hueneme on the 28th. Call me paranoid, but the longer the thing stays at the VDC, the more suspicious I become, thinking that there's something wrong w/ my car!!

Oh, thanks. Damn -- I wish the VDC and the trucking companies would step it up a bit. Every day of waiting is getting twice as long as the day before.

I can't believe Week 43ers and 44ers on the east coast have had their rides for nearly 2 weeks already! Oh well.

Why can't Alaska Blue and Pepperoni post some pics of their rides?

Living vicariously through other people's MINI pics is the only thing that makes the wait bearable! :impatient :impatient

Okay, so this waiting thing really is starting to suck. My car was on the Don Juan the docked and unloaded on the 28th. My MA says that their tracking tools are not updated yet to see where the car is now. 7 fricken days with no update. I can't believe that it akes this long to get through the VDC Whats up with that? Then it will take another 3 days to truck it to Seattle and another two days to prep at the dealer. If I'm lucky, I might get it 1 day before they deliver a new 2007

That depends which side of the country you're on . I bet people on the east coast will get their 07's before we get our 06's .
