You will need the VIN to track it. So the first step is to call either your MA or 1866askmini and they can give it to you. Your MA can actually give you the bill of lading # also. I use the 866# as they are very friendly. Once you have that you canplug that # into the box at http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/cargoTrack.do

If it is scheduled for shipment, it will tell you.

Good luck

I had my vin already, entered it on the WW site but no info for mine.. so maybe I'm on the next one. Does it show up as soon as it hits the docks? or does it take a while?

Chris and Pro, from what I understand is that we just have to keep checking back. Kinda sucks! From what I saw on the WW website, it appears that there is another boat leaving on 11/5. I'm not sure where I will be as I have received conflicting reports as to whether Mini Me will be on a boat direct to the west coast or one that hits the east coast first.

By the way, MA stands for Motoring Analyst. Why they aren't called a sales guy is way beyond my simple mind.

This waiting game is really killing me. I placed my order on 9/16, finished production 10/30, so now knowing my luck I might get the car around 12/31? Who knows anymore, I'm just thrilled that I am priveledged to own one.

Speed Racer i'm in the same boat as you i orderd my mini around you and i guess that i've had just about as much luck as you have. Are you on teh west coast? because i've been asking ASK MINI and most of the guys there told me that if we're on the west coast then there is a ship that goes directly from South Hampton (?) - where our precious babies are now waiting and then theyw ill be shipped directly to the west coast via the panama canal. Speed Racer what is your config?

I was under the impression that MA stood for "Motoring Adviser?" Whatever.

So I didn't know that your MA can give you a Bill of Lading number? I am going to call him tomorrow if the VIN still does not work.

PR041177 my MINI has been at the docks since the 27th of Oct. It should have been on the boat that left today, but as of now the VIN still does not work on the WW site.

Chris

I searched the WW site and foun that the earliest boat that goes direct to the west coast wuld be the Do Juan departing on 11/6 and arriving in Port hueneme on 11/29. I have no clue wher that heck that is.

So, if our cars come directly with no stops on the east coast, I think thats our answer unless they use a different carrier. I know that I saw someplace that the west coast uses a different carrier. I will try to find that info.

They said that the ships dock in Long Beach when they come to the West coast, so i'm assuming that is our ship, so we're looking at next monday and then 22-23 days at sea, and then about a week to our dealers for check up and stuff so we're probably looking at the second week of december? why does it take so long to cross the atlantic? 22 days is like the mayflower speed? btw your mini config is sweet! i have an lsd too. looking forward to that. thanks for all of your help

My PW MCS is coming to Miami, FL. I was told the ship makes a stop in New York to drop off some MINIs and then the rest are left at the South Carolina VDC.

So my belief is that "Pepperoni" is on the ship that left yesterday since it is traveling to the east coast, but the WW site is still not recognizing my VIN. I hope its just a delay or something.

That's 22 days across the Atlantic..through the Panama Canal...and up the west coast to Long Beach. That's a long haul.

Hey all you fellow West Coasters.

I just checked the WW site and our cars are now showing up as being booked to cruise on the Don Juan. Don Juan departs South Hampton on 11/6/06, makes a stop in NY on 11/14, another stop on 11/20 in Manzanillo Panama, and arrives in Port Hueneme, CA on 11/29. So, I prpbably won't see MiniMe until sometime late in the first week of December as he will still need to hitch a ride up to the NW corner of the country.

Great news!!!! Any of you can view the complete list of cargo by using Bill of Lading # GB530310. By the way, it appeared that there where over 400 cars on the boat.

Good luck

Port Hueneme is in Oxnard, CA -- about 60 miles up the coast from LA.

What I don't understand (mostly because I'm just impatient ) is why do they even bother going all the way to the west coast when it only takes 8 days to get to the east coast vs. 23 days to get to the west coast (ie, the Don Juan gets to New York on 11/14 and gets to Port Hueneme on 11/29). That's a 15 day difference. And wouldn't it generally take LESS than 15 days to go through the checks at the Vehicle Distribution Center and truck the vehicles to the dealer??!!

I totally agree with you on this. It seems that the west coast totally gets the shaft on this one. I ordered MiniMe on 9/16 and will have waited almost three months to get it. I could have ordered it through the Hamptons or Classic and probably would have had it in about 5 weeks at my doorstep. However, I choose to support our local dealership. Stupid me. When I pick up the car, I plan on getting the regional guys name and number so that I can express my extreme dissatisfatction with the west coast process and apparent discrimination.

Maybe part of the reason why you've already waited so long is because the alloted production number that your dealer gave you was scheduled for production long after you ordered on 9/16. For example, when I ordered mine on 10/11, my dealer had designated allotments for production week 43 or 45, so I chose week 43. IMO, I think your dealer should have forwarned you (or at least had a clue) that your MINI was not going into production until well after you ordered it. If they gave you the production number the day you ordered it, then I think they should have been well aware of this. If they weren't able to give you a production number the day you ordered it, then they really didn't know when the vehicle was going into production and IMO they should have made you aware. Perhaps they've already taken this into account and hopefully you will get some freebies and/or excellent service at time of delivery. If not then tell them that you missed out on a relatively quick delivery to support them. 3 months is already a long time to wait, hope your blood pressure isn't off the chart, mine would be a bit sketchy .

And as far as the shipping from Southampton to Port Hueneme?? I think that whoever is in charge of shipping at MINI has a real close friend or relative working at the Panama Canal! Actually, I would guess it's somehow less expensive to travel on a ship from the east coast to the west coast (as opposed to being trucked)?? Or maybe unloading ALL of the vehicles at one port would wreak logistical havoc at the VDC??

I'm happy w/ things so far, but I'll end up asking my MA about MINIs reasoning behind practically circumnavigating the entire frikkin' North American continent to unload in Port Hueneme instead of just unloading and trucking to the western states. I have faith that there's some logic behind it, but for now I'm just impatient!!

Awesome. I haven't seen any BRG/B's on this on this forum (although I'm sure that there's a few) but now there will be 3 (including mine).
