Can’t stand the wait already!

Last Saturday (Sep. 2nd) we ordered our Mini. We went to Patrick Mini in Chicago, IL and was very pleased with their service. Our dealer was excellent and made it very easy. I had read that you don’t get much room with MSRP on the car so to compensate for that you have to get them to throw in some extras. Without even putting much pressure on them they waved the install price on the chrome exhaust (I’m sure that’s over priced to begin with) and also threw in 4 mats and the boot mat as well. I’m going to try and get some misc. junk when we pick up the Mini like key chains, mouse pads, t-shirts, etc…!

I am anxiously waiting for my production number so I can begin the tracking process. I honestly don’t know if I can make it until the Mini arrives.

Anyway, I have read a ton of posts on the forum and am very glad I stumbled upon it. I think it is going to be a great resource for the many years of enjoyment I will get out of my Mini.

So, hello from one Mini owner to a bunch of others! (I'm going to get used to being a Mini Owner pretty easily I think!)

Welcome to NAM and the MINI Obsession! Now might be a good time to take up some relaxation techniques to keep from going crazy waiting.

I see you got BRG, what else did you spec out? Inquiring minds(aka all us nosey MINI owners) want to know.

welcome to NAM other 1/2! (Katie)

very nice specs on the mini! if you havent gotten a production week asigned yet, hopefully you will get one soon and can join the people within your same production period. Always feel free to call 1-(866) ASK-MINI and always speak to a live person, the automated message is not always accurate. Great way to find out info on the progress of your car.

Congrats!

Boy do I know about the impatience that comes with waiting. I didn't know about MAM or MINI2 until after I got Gary in March 06. I'm still just as in love as day 1! Just be sure and sleep with the brochure under your pillow, & your sweet motoring dreams will be real before you know it!

Welcome and congrats on your order BRG all the way!!!!

do you know when your MINI will arrive???

Definitely need to check out all of local club sites (CMMC, Milwaukee MINIs, etc) and Motoringfile to keep you busy until your MINI arrives. Don't forget White Roof Radio if you get tired of reading.

Should get to US around Oct. 4 and then to dealer I'm told within 10-12 days. I already talked with you about the CMMC and plan on coming out to the Starving Rock ralley.

Hey Don't worry too much. I waited 4 years for mine...... because I am cheap and wanted the price to come down on used ones. Not afraid to admit it

Welcome, Brad and Katie!!

Waiting is a *****, but look at it this way, you're not putting any mileage on your car, and when you get it......it'll still be 0.0miles. I know it's feeble, but it's the only positive I could come up with for buying a car and not actually having it.

Have you picked a name for the lillte fellah, yet? That's a good way to pass the time until delivery. I'll get the ball rolling, shall I? Hmm, lemme see.....he's BRG, purchased at Patrick MINI, possibly an Irish connection? How about Paddy. With a tip of the hat to the great Paddy Hopkirk who made the Mini a household name and a rally legend.
