Proud new MCS owner

Hello guys , my name is arthur so nice to meet all of you !!

I just left the mini cooper dealership an hour ago and i am proudly saying that i am a new mcs owner , i was into bmw's for a very very long time and i recently have been going to some mini meets thats what enspired me to get one . The people were very talkative , nice , friendly, and just more mature i would say.

My custom mini will be here in late october so i will post pics then , this is the car i had for 6 years. 1989 325i. I somewhat will miss it but i really did not have fun in the bmw envirement.

yup i can tell , thanks alot guys . I havent been in a mini thats been driven hard but from the feeling i got test driving the msc jcw it was very close to my current car so that is giving me a lil doubt if i really should get the mini , something thats about 30k but very close to my car . I wish there was someone close by so i can go with a drive with them or etc just to make up my mind really , but i do want a new car and i love the mini so lets see what happens in about 6 weeks when it arrives.

get a mini S not a jcw.

jcw is a bit more for bragging rights and luxary.

you can easily modify with not much cost a mini s to get 210+ hp.

the brakes of the JCW are larger and that is good.

I dont see the point of huge wheels in a car that does great with 15" ones.

with lots of options that are fun, you can drive it away for 24500 about plus tax.

It beats a bmw's butt for handling. The bmw is heavy, higher center of gravity, and has its wheels not so far out as the mini does compared to its body. Mini has a maximum wheel stance for its size.

you arent pushing it enough if you dont think so, keep trying tighter and tighter turns, it goes beyond what I thought possible for a 24k dollar car. (handles better than my friends 325i, thats for sure)

Also, it is a front wheel drive car. completely different handling than a bmw rear wheeler. try a snowy or rainy day or junk NYC gravely pottholed road and make the same turns.

yah i did order a regular s and not a jcw , thanks alot for the info you just gave me . I guess its just a fear because i dont want to loose my current car that i put so much money into it and buy a newer ( 1st new car ) and not be satisfied which i am very sure i will be once i learn more bout the mini and start driving one .

Btw i payed 6 grand down , and paying off the mini in 48 months , it will end up being around 31k . I really gotte step up since i am only 21 and have a regular paying job and have to pay for all my bills . It will be tuff but o well.

Hey- I'm coming out of a 1994 BMW 325ic which finally self destructed with 163k miles. Anyway, I ordered a MCSC BRG yesterday! What a different ride. It's a blast. Good luck on your car. I'm sure you're anticipating it as much as i am. Rich

"that's about it" sounds pretty good to me!!

You'll love it here while you're waiting, and love it even more when it gets here. Plan a long ride for when you first get it so you can get the break-in period done (mine took a week), then you'll REALLY love it!

Congrats!
