NOOB TIRE/RIM question
That's the beauty of MINI's - all the OEM wheels will fit either model. The only exception is if the car has the JCW brakes (or aftermarket big brake kits) and then the 15" won't fit, and only selected 16" will fit.
Beware of adding weight to Coopers - the heavy 17" S-lites will blunt the acceleration and steering feel.

ohhh - just bought a MC with runflat 17" S wheels on - maybe should downgrade?? the ride is harsh , but i'm reading the forum to see what options might help. I've upped the psi to 34 and thought about getting an extra set of 16" winter wheels. I've no idea how it will handle on wet/icy/snowy roads. Never driven on low profile tyres before......
FWIW, though I have weighed the combos and know the difference is significant, I didn't really feel much difference when 'downgrading' from Slites to Xlites. 16" sure squealed more though...
My Slites/all seasons made it through a Kansas snow storm without sending me into a ditch, but I don't have to deal with that much.

They come with the 15" tires (non-runflat), or 16" (run-flat) if you select the Sport package.
The MC has a spare because there's room for it - the MCS has the battery in that area. Even if you do have runflats, there are times that a spare could be useful.

17's are a style choice.
performance isnt gained much with them vs others unless you go aftermarket and go like 15 lb 17's. which are expensive to buy and to keep.
15's run the car super fast and tight. 16's are the bump up. 17's are like bling!
i have driven them all and noted how much nicer the 15 and 16's are. 15 mc's big bouncy boys are a very soft ride. I would probably though get a sport package on the MC for all the great things it adds. Sport and Cold weather and then trim to your heart's content is a great all around deal that the MCS's doesnt really have.
which i bought, the mcs. shrugs

The MC with sport package is equipped with Goodyear NCT5 summer performance runflat tires, size 195/55R16.
