Just ordered 07/28/06

Just ordered a MC-S and was given a delivery date of late November, early December. Does that seem like a real long time to get one?

Thanks,

FMC

That seems kind of long, did they tell who approx when it will go into production. If its schedule for production in 6-8 weeks, it normally takes about 4+/- weeks after it goes into production to get to your house.

Dealers in Cali seem to have long waiting lists, you might be better off finding an out of state dealer and either having the car transported to you, or fly out and drive back. My MCS was ordered on 6/3 and I took delivery on Thursday.

It's a long wait because the factory is about to be shut down for 45 days. They're changing the paint process, and other stuff getting ready for the new 07's in Jan/Feb.

gm mini girl, I am in so cal. Was that Southbay bmw by chance?? When we discussed ordering my car yesterday, I indicated that I knew it would be a couple of months (only because I had previously ordered a bmw) he was like "oh, it takes longer than that". Also, I had read that somone else who ordered from them 6 wks ago was still without a production number. I am checking on ordering from out of state today. But I guess 3-4 mo's isn't so bad. August's production dates are probably full. Congrats on your order!!

haha they are getting ready for 07s and I still haven't got my 06. I ordered mine 4/12/06 and it was built 6/25/06. Just came to VDC, so hopefully not too much longer of a wait!

I'm not positive but I believe that plant shutdown is 2 weeks and the new paint process recently went online.

Yeah, I'm glad I got in before the partial shutdown... began production on Monday... I think it's early August, so obviously not as many vehicles will be produced during this time resulting in a longer wait time...

Yes it was, how did you know that?

Also tossed and turned over the 17" Web-Spokes, (which seem to be a great deal at only $500.00 with the sport pkg), or go with the 16" R-90's or 16" R-83's for more money?

What's a wise, confused Chinaman to do?
