Waiting.............................

I have plunked down my grand, I have the rest of the cash waiting in the bank drawing interest. I have made my final decisions on what my MCS will be. Delivery will be sometime in October. Will I live that long?
The sweat beads on my forehead as I lay my head upon my pillow and I fall into a mystic MINI Dream. Do I expect too much? Will it match the experience of my MGA from oh so long ago in my foolish youth?
I almost went with the Chile Red but the Hyper Blue cried out to me "Less tickets, less tickets!". Did I sacrifice the retro feel by ordering the Chrono Pack? Was the invisible bra really needed? And what about Naomi?
I can't sleep. Help! I'm in MINI purgatory! :impatient

MOTD (MINIs on the Dragon) is an annual MINI Meet, (the first full weekend every May since 2003), in the Smoky Mountains, on the border of NC/TN. Hwy. 129, aka "The Dragon," has 318 curves in 11 miles, and was built for MINI motoring!

Check out this website, and visit some of the links. Most of the events emanate from Fontana Village, near the Fontana Dam. It is a beautiful area which I just visited again last weekend. I drive there from L.A. every spring, then fly east and motor there with friends in July and October.

Does this mean I just joined a cult? One based on curves and down-shifting, punching it through the corners and accelerating up at low end torque in the straights. Could this be automotive heaven? And what about Naomi?
You guys aren't making the long wait any easier but I definitely feel a sense of camaraderie.

I'm waiting, too. Perdita is on a cargo ship in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean as I write this. And of course I have the same sort of questions: Should I have gotten Cool Blue instead of Chili Red? Or maybe Pepper White? Do I need to get the clear bra? Should I have gone with white bonnet stripes instead of black? Should I have plunked down the extra $3000 for an S? Will my 130-pound dog fit in the back seat? ;-)Sheer insanity! Welcome to the World of MINI!

Hang in there, JJ Blue and gshochet! It is well worth the wait! I ordered mine 5/9 and picked her up 7/7. It was surreal sitting inside the first time. My husband took a picture of me, and I'm basically in total shock. After doing the test drive in April, finally putting down the deposit and ordering (after making all those option/color decisions), and waiting the longest 7+ weeks of my life, to actually be sitting in my very own MINI. WAY COOL!!

Oh, by the way, I think Hyper Blue is the way to go! Mine is a Hyper Blue MCSa, with silver top and mirrors.

CONGRATULATIONS, and welcome to the MINI community!

Yes, it will! Actually, put the back seats down, or one of them, and you should have no problem getting a large dog into the MINI. Yucca Patrol's Saint Bernard rides around in his! But I do suggest getting the rubber floor mats, boot mat, and extender over the back seats to keep the hair out!

The word "cult" is associated with so many negatives. "Group of brainwashed fanatics" seems more appropriate. Of course, once you own a MINI, you can never leave!!!

My thought process, exactly! My HB/W is on its way. Chile Red screamed "cop magnet" to me, as I'm not exactly the slowest of drivers...

The clear bra is WAY worth it! My Mosquito is the poster child for why you should get one (got it on Mary).

And, yes, it's a cult. Recruitment is a full-time job.
