Hi, First Post!
My order for a MINI took 6 months (more or less). It is a pepperwhite MC-S with the Checkmate Package, Chrono pack, Harmon Sound. We are loving all of it. The spaceblue interior in a pepperwhite gives it such a classic 1960's styling inside with those blue and grey leather cloth sport seats.
We are in Western Oregon and are taking it for a drive this weekend over to the Wallowa mountains near Hells Canyon of Idaho. Can't really wait!!
I'll be around as I get more knowledge and have more questions. The car gets alot of looks (we know they ain't looking at us).

Oh you are all so supportive!! I went out and shot the interior; checkmate interior styling, spaceblue leather and grey cloth seats, leather steering wheel, etc.

Yes, most likely true that Checkmate is discontinued, as I went back to the miniusa.com site and the Checkmate is no longer an order option, gone from the 'build your own mini'.
I don't understand why they ended the Checkmate. Any news?

You're with friends when you're at NAM. You'll find it very very helpful when you your car makes it's first odd noise (much like first time parents and a baby's first cough). I just did it today. I thought something was wrong with my baby and found out the noise was a icy road ping.

Welcome! I love your MINI! Great specs... I wanted to order just like you did but ended up buying used... did still manage to get Pepper White but not the spiffy interior like yours.

Is it April Yet?
I just ordered my first Mini Cooper it's a S convertible sidewalk. To say I am excited is an understatement.
I always had an eye for the MC, I had never known anyone who owned one nor had I ever been inside one before.
My wife and I went to the Philly Auto show a couple of weeks ago. After sitting in a convertible and having her first up close Mini encounter my wife said "we should think about getting one of thes....." before her sentence was complete, I had made an appointment with Princeton Mini. I asked Dan the salesman to bring an 07 Chilie red convertable in for us to drive.
I didn't drive it too hard for fear the additional G force would jar my wife to her senses and she would change her mind. I took my time and let the exceptional quality, the amazing fit and finish, and of course the feeling of power soak in. Well it was over I was getting that feeling; a man falling in love with a car. There is no turning back once you drive that thing!
We loved the Chili Red until we saw a new link just last week on the Mini website. The Sidewalk. There she was in sparkeling Silver with English Malt leather interior. I loaded the thing with packages and placed the order.
I have to wait till march for the first signs of life, and then the end of April for Delivery. Wow is just me or has time slowed down alot lately?
Is it April yet?...............How bout now?
Wait till I tell you guys about the second test drive. OMG! Tune in later.
