Phcrim 7/08 7/16
StompRocket 7/07 7/17
Arthurbang 7/03 TBA
Chuckt 7/16
MiniMaxx 7/19
gshochet 7/08 7/19
Solberg 7/07 7/20
Speakman 7/08 7/22

I hope I got everyone!!
Similar story here as well. My car didn't move for days and I was told that it was probably pushed back to 7/18. I finally reached a (forgot his name) person at Ask Mini this morning on the way into work and was told it was in the paint shop on Saturday and probably will be completed today then have 24-48 hours in the quality test phase (translated: joy ride in my car ) He said he thought it would go to port by the end of the week. So no chance in getting on the boat that leaves today (didn't think this was too likely).

I like the idea of the spreadsheet. Thanks for putting it together! I think it would be useful to know what port everyone's car will be shipped to. Mine is on the west coast VDC.

Well I just talked to a very lovely gentleman named Brian at ASK MINI and he said mine is still in "assembly"...he said it should be finished by Wednesday (which is the actually the 19th). He then said I should be at the dock and getting on a boat by the end of the week. He said it looks like a 3rd week in August arrival at the dealership! Well my original calculation is for August 16th, which is right in the 3rd week in August!!! So I'm keeping my fingers crossed for getting on that boat!!!

I'm in Baltimore...

StompRocket,

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm in B'more, and I read the tracking FAQ, and I'm watching the WW site for my VIN. It's a bit of a long shot, but I already told my rep that I was shooting for 8/18 or 8/19, so hopefully he can make sure that if it does arrive, it doesn't stay at the dealer longer than it has to. They do have to install bonnet stripes and the aux audio input, and do whatever other prep work they have to do of course.

I'm going to look on the boards for 'break-in' information...it did occur to me that I might not want to take it on a road trip straight off. But honestly, how could I not?!

What a fun convertable you will have. What part of the country are you in? Do you know which port/VDC your car will come into? You may have a shot at 8/18 if you are on the east coast. If you haven't checked it out yet, you can follow the boats leaving Southhampton, England online. You can check it out at: http://schedule.2wglobal.com/

I just spoke to someone and my car's in the paint shop. He expects it to be on its way to the docks by Thursday of this week. So maybe it will make it onto the Liberty, departing 7/22, arriving 7/30. Fingers crossed.

A road trip isn't a bad way to break in the engine. What you want to do is keep it under 4000 RPM and vary your speed and RPMs. Granted you don't want to get on the highway, set the cruise control and just go for a few hundred miles, but you could certainly take a road trip to help get the 1250 miles under your belt quickly.

I will hopefully be taking delivery the first week of August (my mini is getting on the Manon tomorrow!) and I plan on taking several long weekends in August for mini road trips. I don't want to break in the engine with nothing but city driving.

Hmm...

...sounds as if a road trip is a requirement, as I live less than two miles from work. Which up until now has been a plus, but with the Mini Cabrio I might find myself taking the loooong way around.

I've talked to a person at Ask-Mini and they haven't been much help yet (in fact, I just called again today). I would assume that it's because of the plant being shut down in early August, but it's probably also because the dealer didn't even PLACE the order until the 10th of July, that's the day that the rep at Ask-Mini tells me it was placed (the same day I got my production number from them, BTW, even though they told me that they'd placed the order the week before and had just never called with the number). So, it's been one week today since the order was placed, and I'm being told late August for production, probably week 31-33, but still no confirmed week yet.

As for the LB Mini where I ordered it, the service has been far from exceptional, and in some cases I've been told things that I found out later to not be true. Sigh. If it weren't for the fact that they were a MSRP dealer, I probably wouldn't have gone there to order.

Just got off the phone with a very nice ASK MINI person (Amanda). I called since the ASK MINI-bot would just tell me that my car was in the paint shop with an estimated completion of 7/16. Given it is now 7/17, I wondered what was up with that. So I spoke to Amanda and she said, "Congratulations, your MINI was born on 7/16 and is currently at the Port of Exit." Haven't been able to get my VIN to show up on the WW shipping site yet (http://schedule.2wglobal.com/), but I see from their schedule that two ships leave within the next few days--one to NYC and the other to Charleston. Can't wait to find out the next step on the journey to me!

Hello everyone, this is my first post. I have been reading for weeks. Ordered my Mini on 7/11 and was told today that I am scheduled for completion on 7/21. Thought I'd join the group in anticipation. I too downloaded the owner's manual and have been reading it at work, no I mean during lunch at work. Learning how to add pictures to the signature so will add a mini replica soon.

Hope mine can get on that Charleston boat. I think it's a long shot though.

If I remember the schedule right--not looking at it at the moment, I thought the next Charleston ship was on 7/22--so maybe that'll happen for ya I think the NYC ship is sooner, like tomorrow or the next day.

Im hoping we all get shipped soon

Howdy and welcome to checking the Owners Lounge, this site and anything MINI related obsessively! Sounds like you have a nice ride on the way

Isn't Amanda friendly? I talked with her once and she was a pleasure. Asked me questions about my car and was very helpful. I almost want to request her when I call! Of course my wife had a good time teasing me when I call Ask Mini she asks if I spoke with Amanda...

Great news on your car! So does it make you now obsessive about checking the weather and wondering if your Mini is taking a shower or getting a sun tan on the banks of Southhampton?

Booking Number : GBSOU435494 Bill Number :

In the paint shop, completion date today!

I just called ASK-MINI and the automated system told me that my vehicle is in the paint shop, with an estimated completion date of 7/18. That's today!! Up until now the estimated completion date was 7/19.

I'm on the Manon too! My mini got to the port on Saturday about 6 hours before the Courage left, but didn't make it on. Knowing the my mini has just been sitting around for 3 days (when it could be 3 days closer to me) has been killing me.

I just got another update. I was told that it has been produced and is now at the port. No info on which ship it will be on though. Is there another site other than WW that I can check?

Congratulations to those making on the boat already! Those of you on the east coast have a definite advantage in a shorter trip across the ocean. I will live vicariously through you as you will be a good 10-14 days ahead of me in the process.

I spoke with Patrick this morning at AM and he said my car made it to port today in Southampton and is enjoying a beautiful day at the beach with a high of 81 Fahrenheit and low of 66 degrees. I am still trying to figure out how to track my car to the west coast through NYK, which is the shipper I believe it will come on. But I'm excited it is ready to ship!

You should check out the Week 27 thread - a lot of people on there have been working on tracking NYK ships - it seems to depend on your MA being on the ball. So long as you can find out the ship you're on you can find tools to track it. And I know that one of the production week threads I was reading when I first registered here someone had actually found a web cam for the Panama Canal and made an animated gif of their ship going through the locks! It was pretty cool. I think it was in the week 23 or week 24 thread.

Hey, check out the 26 Mb movie file with the filename process_camera300.zip at this link:
http://www.mini.com/com/en/manufacturing/index.jsp

Just follow the tour, look for the camera icon on the right side.

Shows the step-by-step production in time lapse video.

OHHHH Boy!!! Congrats to all of those mini's that have made the boat already! I'm sooo jealous!! My mini just finished production today and is waiting for departure! Hopefully I will get on one of those boats leaving in the next couple of days, which would be nice!!

Where do I enter my vin on the WW site to check if it's on board or not??

I know that these ships are leaving in the next couple of days:

Liberty- 7/22/06
Trianon- 7/23/06
Integrity-7/28/06

I'm going to be updating the spreadsheet I've started with all the new info!! And a nice welcome to mjgmcs1!! What are the stats on your mini so I can get your info into the spreadsheet as well!!

For the spread sheet:

Ordered my Mini 7/11, got my production number immediately. Ask Mini says it's in production and scheduled to be complete on 7/21. That's all I know so far.

You go to http://schedule.2wglobal.com/ and select cargo tracking. Under cargo tracking you will see "Auto Cargo". When you select that you enter your MINI's VIN in the Cargo ID. Ive read that in addition to "Auto Cargo" you should also check "RoRo" as well because some ships are "Roll on Roll off" and your MINI might be on that type as well.

Its cool of you to be keeping track of all of us
