Ordering an 06 MCSa Space Blue!

Not exactly a newbie, but my new 06 MINI will be a newbie in a couple months!
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I did it. I'm trading in my 03 CVT for an 06 MCSa.

Here are the specs...pretty simple:

06 MCSa
Space Blue w/silver roof and silver "U" bonnet stripe
Black Leatherette, heated seats
Anthracite dash with anthracite headliner (going for that dark look)
Harman Kardon audio system
DSC
Regular headlights (not Xenon)
Front fog lights
Sunroof
Auto AC
MFSW

That's about it. I really enjoy my 03 CVT, it is a few miles short of 50,000, out of warranty, and had a fair share of issues: 2 power steering pumps replaced, amplifier replaced, electric window motors replaced in BOTH doors, steering wheel replaced, battery replaced...

I'm happy I'm upgrading to an 06 MCSa. Fingers crossed that this one won't give me half as many mechanical difficulties as my 03 did. I just love driving a MINI way too much to walk away (isn't it obvious!?) Hope I've made the right decision. I think so.

The dealer is FedExing over the paperwork, and once I sign and return it with the deposit check, he'll place the order...probably on Thursday or Friday (June 29 or 30). Says it could be as little as 6 weeks for delivery, making a mid-August delivery a possibility. Can't wait. Very excited.

Rock on,

Yep, great color choice I wish I could have ordered some of those options, but I went for the cheapest possible S auto because I need to keep my payments down and I'm trading in a young but high milage Toyota Matrix.

Great color, by the way. In case noone has told you this.

But really, don't forget to order the rear fogs otherwise you will have a missing switch from the dash.

That is the only reason that I have fogs at all, can't stand the missing switches.

way to go!

two pieces of advice:

1. ALWAYS drive with the paddles - and dont be afraid to drive hard. these cars do better when DRIVEN if you catch my meaning here...

2. seriously consider (if at all possible) the jcw leather dash to augment your anthracite headliner. i just installed it and the difference is night and day!

happy motoring - drew

Thanks for all the comments, suggestions, kind words, etc!

How do the paddle shifters work? Do I hit the left one to downshift, right one to upshift?

I sure hope the dealer is correct in saying "should be here in 6 weeks, tops." Seems really quick for it to be built and shipped over all in the span of about 42 days...or 30 days if only including weekdays...does the Oxford plant stay open 7 days a week for production?

rock on,

Both paddles work the same. Push to downshift, pull to upshift.

Yah 6 weeks is reasonable for a East Coast delivery. My car came in exactly one month.
