Production Week 27 (July 3, 2006) Support Group
Inigo Montoya: He's dead. He can't talk.
Miracle Max: Whoo-hoo-hoo, look who knows so much. It just so happens that your friend here is only MOSTLY dead. There's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive. With all dead, well, with all dead there's usually only one thing you can do.
Inigo Montoya: What's that?
Miracle Max: Go through his clothes and look for loose change.

BTW, happy belated birthday, Drew! Just a quicky kinda update here too. For those of you that get MC2, the feature on Mary should be in the next issue....if I can get off my butt and get the release info out!
That's great Drew! Looks good!
I just got a deal on some used 15 x 7.5 Rota wheels with Hankook 225/45-15 tires. They look a little small on the car, but they stick like glue. I bought them for $700 for doing track day events. My first will be in June.

Oh yeahhhhhhh.....
Who here was at the dragon? Apparently someone here's wife asked my hubby if I was there so she could thank me because her car is getting door sills because of the ones I put on Mary.

She met your husband at registration and talked with him about it, but didn't say anything about it to me until I dropped by here to see what was going on (after a long sabbatical), saw your post, and asked her if it was her.

Is anyone out there from here going to MINIs on Top in NH in a few weeks? I know most of you are not from New England, but just wanted to see if there will be an PW27ers there so I can finally meet you!
MILEAGE CHECK!!!
Hey all! Long time!
Jake just turned over 18,000 today! Woot!
How's everyone else?
Also...I have new Jake stuff (of course)!
CHECK IT OUT!!!

There a guy on eBay (plus his regular site) that sells these. He has the digitally created art stored so he can make custom "mods" to match your MINI (R53 and R56)! The print is 11x17 and GREAT color. Only $15!

That's pretty good motoring! I drive Jake everyday for my computer business so that makes up for a lot.
People think I have a lot of miles. What's your target mileage for year one? 35,000???
Started a new thread today. Check it out. Fun story!

Mary is almost at 23,000. Not bad considering the amount of time I didn't have her!
As an update, my feature is "supposed" to be in the next issue of MC2.
Sheeb - Glad you are experiencing the fun of the Alta. Looks like you're ready for a filter cleaing though!
I have a tip on buying the cleaner stuff and oil. It's the same brand as on the Alta site but you can buy it at a motorcyle shop and not have to wait. I think it was cheaper, too!
On another note, guess who is next for the two MINI family group? Me!!!
My partner ordered his on the 10th. Woot! What's amazing is he - Jack- went into production TODAY and is scheduled for completion June 20th!
I think the days of good old WAITING and Production Week Support Group "stuff" may be waning.
I'm guessing Jack will be here by late July/early August!
So we're gonna have Jack and Jake!
Don't ya just love it?
Btw, the R56 is really great. I have the great pleasure of experiencing both generations (and both transmissions)!

Hey all! I figured I'd bump this up since it's nearing week 27 for the R56 guys. I ordered mine 1 year and 3 days ago... wow what a year it's been. I've already done a LOT of mods I didn't expect to have done by now, been to the Dragon about 5 times, travelled from Florida up to Maryland and all over in between with BLISS, been out on VIR, and I've motored 31,200 miles already. It's been quite a year, how about for you guys?!

Wow Drew, you are a motoring maniac!
Jake is just about to turn 20,000.
I just got some new tires and are they SWEET! Bridgestone Potenza RE 960 AS Pole Position - 215/45/17. The tires that came with the wheels got VERY "squishy". These babies are crisp, have a good "roll" and will do just about anything (so I'm told).

The big news is becoming a TWO MINI family! Woot! My partner/SO, Jeff, is getting a MINI! Right now, Jack is somewhere in the Atlantic on the Manon. He's a DS/W MCS, cream color line, piano black dash, chrome dash accents and the bee-you-tee-ful Carbon Black Lounge Leather seats with cream piping! The namesake will be the black Union Jack on the sunroof!

And the funnest part? His license (and NAM ID) is: JUSTJAK
Hope to see a report from good ol' PW27SG. We had...have...a great group. Visiting the SGs now is quite different!

I'm 200 miles from hitting 25,000 and Mary's scheduled for her Inspection I on the 9th. Show car season is about to start down here, so Mary will be getting some major spa treatments soon. Just saw the next MC2 issue preview and Mary's not there (big suprise). Guess she'll be in the one after that.
Hello PW27ers!
Sounds like everyone is thoroughly enjoying their MINIs. To compare to everyone else, it has been approx. 1 year and 27 days since I ordered Pi Rho. He's almost a year old and 18.600 miles into his life! Our biggest trip was to MINIs on Top in NH on June 15 & 16th and it was AMAZING! I am fortunate to know so many MINI friends and the weekend was a blast! I am already planning out next MOT!

Also, my BF loved the MINI crowd and the car so much, he bought his own 2005 DS/B MCS. He's driving it hard and enjoying every mile. So much so that his Audi S4 doesn't see the road anymore!
At the end of July, I will be approaching the 1 year mark of ownership and also will be attending the first MINI event I went to with Pi Rho, when he was only in my possession for 18 hours - MAMA Blueberries and BBQ in Merrimack, NH!
Its been a fun trip and hopefully next year I can do the Dragon and perhaps even AMVIV!

I was a day early, actually. Jake was born 7/6/06 (hence my Motoring ID: ZIP766).
On another note, Jack (Jeff's MINI) passed through the Panama on 7/7/07. Woot!
Plus, he arrived at Port Hueneme TODAY.
Jake's Birthday!
Or would that be anniversary? Regardless it has been one year today that I took delivery!
Hoping all my peeps (and Jake's cousins)
in PW27SG are enjoying great motoring, mods and more.
Jake's last mod was some domed center caps for his wheels. It was kind of a treat for staying home while Jeff and I took Jack for his new bling at Mike's (Aesthetic Creations).
He also had quite and adventure at MITM. He had a "flat bed" escort home (from the middle of the Utah desert) because he threw his supercharger belt! Doh! Too much mountainous spirited motoring maybe?
It all turned out really well and I made a wee tiny
slide show about his adventure.
Check it out here!

I'm glad to see this thread bumped back up. I celebrated BLISS' b-day (my 1 year anniversary) with a nice long spirited drive, it was so much fun. I can't believe how far I've come with him this year! I need to take a couple of new pics, he's done a lot of changing in one year.
Oh, I have some exciting new too... I just accepted a job at Flow MINI as a Motoring Advisor!!! I start on 9/3.

Great to hear the good news, Drew!
Clayton- is Jake back up and runnin' well now? Do you have any photos of Jack??
I celebrated my MINI's 1 yr anniversary with a drive up to the signature event that we first attended together last year, Blueberries and BBQ. I actually gave him the day off and the bf and I took his MINI instead!

Checking in
Hi Gang-
Just wanted to check in and say hi to you all. I still lurk around to keep up with your latest, but haven't had much of import to post. Nightcrawler has been doing just fine, no thrown supercharger belts or anything like that (sorry to hear about that one, Clayton!). The only complaint I have is that I can't fit all three kids in the back, so I rarely get to use it on the weekend.
The only 'mod' I've made recently was that I took off the racing-style tow hook that I'd had on the front, because I thought perhaps it was looking a little too pretentious, but now without it he looks a little too plain, like a punk without his lip piercing.
I'm considering springing for the JCW suspension when I take him down to Tacoma for his first oil change (still only about 8800 miles so far), but I'm not sure I can justify all the $$ just to make my 8 mile commute a little more fun...
anyway, hope you all are well.
