That is one sexy beast, Julie! Looks just like mine but with the JCW, aero kit, wheels, and stripes. No name yet? Can't wait to see more pictures!

I really love the aero kit grill on PW MINIs. I am so going to buy that aero grill kit on outmotoring.com to fit onto the stock front bumper. Anyone else doing this mod?

Only 3 MORE DAYS until I pickup Dash!

Yes! We need one at the Port of Houston!

MORTRBL, nice picture! I love my aero kit now, so I made sure to get it on Mary. What happened to the driving lights on your sig? I don't see them on your new MINI.

Julie, great looking car. I'll bet your nervous jitters vanished when you saw it. I think that's a pretty good picture too.

Creseida, Glad Budda is finally home. Hope all the bumper cover changing didn't take too long.

Jeff from Sterling was also my MA. He always called me back, often leaving messages at work and at home. They weren't totally organized yesterday when I went in for delivery but they had received many, many cars on Saturday and seemed to make an extra effort to meet my time schedule. Overall the process went pretty well.

My MINI has a name!!

Pi Rho -- Greek alphabet letters

Consequently, I realized when spoken, it sounds like "pyro" which leads to "fire, heat, explosion" and ultimately is fitting for a Chili Red MCS.

So, yay, he has a name now!

MINI Music for the Maiden Motoring Trip!!!!

OK. I think this is TOTALLY FUN. If you want to participate, cool! You might consider it sacrilege (since one would not be able to hear the MINI hummmm).

But, I am creating a CD of some great up, fun, kicky tunes for my first...one of my first drives in my MINI. Part...most...of the inspiration is the H/K Sound system.

I started a list and it's kind of funny - - the songs are kind of love songs, I guess. But, we all love our MINIs, right?

Some of you young'uns - - might not know some of these but ya never know.

Here's my first few songs for "Jake's CD":
  • (This Will Be) An Everlasting Love – Natalie Cole
  • Best of My Love – The Emotions
  • Roll With It – Steve Winwood
  • Walking On Sunshine – Katrina & the Waves
  • Everybody Wants You – Billy Squier
  • Crush On You – The Jets
Whaday'all think?

Red Scooter -- I'm doing that too with my MINI! I eventually am getting the iPod link, but not right away. I am making a CD with some of my favorite driving tunes. I do recognize, though not all of your songs. Mine will probably be just as unknown to you older generations.

On the playlist so far:
1. Heaven - DJ Sammy (remix)
2. Let it Rain - 4 Strings
3. A German song I don't know the real name to
4. Life is a Highway - Rascal Flatts

Good idea though!!

Scooter and Sheenabea - you know the stereo in the MINI plays mp3s, right? That way you can burn a ton of driving tunes!

So I did my first mod tonight - the classic gutter guard hood scoop grill. It took me a couple trys to get the piece trimmed correctly, but once I got it cut correctly, spray painted white, and back into the car, I couldn't believe how cool it looked!! My sincere apologies for no pics right now (it was dark when I finished), but I will definitely put some up tomorrow. For all you getting an S, you should try this out! The best part is, if you don't really like it, you can take it right out and it only cost $1.87.

My MA at Sterling (Jeff) always called back within an hour (if he was in the office) any time I had a question.

Will post pics tomorrow of the nicely prepped Buddha, who had 11.5 miles on him when I picked him up. He now has 70+.
Congrats creseida!!!! Can't wait to see those pics

Sheeb -

I forgot I'm having the Aux. port put in. But I still like to make "road trip" CDs. And, I have to "confess", I don't know any of the songs you listed.

But, I'm going to listen to some mp3 clips and check them out! I just may EXPAND my musical tastes/library.

EDIT: I really don't know #3!

I'm glad you guys brought up motoring tunes.

I've got time to put one together.

Heavy on the ZZ Top and electric blues.

OK Turcicus...now I really need a pic. I can't even begin to imagine what a classic gutter guard hood scoop grill looks like. But a mod that costs $1.87 has got to be worth checking out! Thanks for the input on the MP3s. I didn't know that.

Yowza! That's quite the collection. I just listened to "Tom Sawyer" and thought that would be a good "sound test". Forgot about YYZ...krikey...that rocks!

C'mon guys. We all know damn well (or at least MCS motorers) that the stereo will not even have a chance to serve its function during the drive home. The engine sound is just too addicting, especially the whining supercharger.

I don't know...I'm a big fan of music while I drive. Kind of like that kid from Iron Eagle.

Ohhhh...that classic gutter guard hood scoop grill thingy! I'll bet that looks great in white on Nitro.

Seems kind of strange there isn't a grill there from the factory. ???

One of my planned ext. mods is a CHROME scoop. It has an integrated grill. Check it out - http://outmotoring.com/mini_cooper_s...oop_cover.html

A-HA! A motoring purist! When I upgraded to the H/K sound (before I had PW27SG) some NAM members gave me input and there were several that said similar stuff about the sound of the engine. I just may fall in love with the hummm, the whine, the rumble... ...but tunes and driving just go together...at least sometimes!

I know exactly what you mean, I drive with no music on most of the time even when I'm not in something fun! But when I do put music on, I am going to listen to it loud and enjoy it!!!

Guys this has been the longest 5 weeks of my life! I don't know how some of you have waited over 2 months to get yours. There is no way I could order in December knowing I won't get to Motor until August!

One more week, one more week, one more week, one motre week, une motore week, fun motoring week, fun motoring week.... CRAP I did it again!

Drew

I feel your pain Drew! I'm still trying to find out from my MA about this discrepancy in the arrival date of the Auto Banner. It's only four days but, well, you know. PLUS he was off on Monday and then buried yesterday (I assume). Even a wee tiny email saying "I'm checking into it." would work for me.

Ah well, my goal/wish/hope is to have my MINI for my road trip on the 25th of AUGUST.

You will have been motoring for about THREE WEEKS by then. Hang on...it won't be long now!

Oooo, that's a nice part! I had never seen that before.

As for the music versus engine debate, I think I'm right in the middle. The noise of the engine is nice, but the H/K stereo is unbelievable! It was so worth every penny, and I can't imagine not getting it.
